The voting process along with all those idiotic YES signs would be perfect if the question was "Should Anthony Albanese and the whole of his phoney Government be thrown into jail?" YES! YES! YES!
To add to the thread, this is a link to a song with the words let your yes be yes and your no be no. It's called So Many Questions and seems more relevant now than 20+ years ago when written. Hopefully you find it encouraging. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7eFspGxWmiY
Also he said Yes or No had to be written in English. So for people whom English is their second language or that dont speak, write or understand English at all. Whatever they put in the either box if its not English or legible it will be counted as Yes???
Yeah, that's my worry too! It's an absolute disgrace and someone needs to do something to stop this fraudulent voting process!!! (Please see my comment earlier - Aug 25.)
Ok now I am confused because I understood by writing Yes it meant Yes. And writing No meant No.
Re the Ticks in that someone puts a tick in the Yes box instead of writing Yes it would be counted as a Yes. But if someone put a X in the No box it would be disqualified and given to the Yes. I listened to radio commentary and I thought this AEC guy is a Fruitcake for even mentioning ticks or crosses in the first place. After it had been established that the AEC paper would ask you to write Yes or No on your paper why is he talking Ticks & crosses. Now your saying if I write NO it will be counted as a Yes??? So in other words his saying a Yes or a tick equals Yes. But a No or X also equals Yes.
This is very worrying, very scary and highly illegal. What the hell is going on, they cant do this!!
The Albatross Albanese needs to qualify this Now!!
Sarah, in all seriousness, if you would like to vote 'No', like every other thinking person in this country, then you must write the word 'NO' in the box. Write neatly using capital letters, so that it is unmistakably clear, and make sure you use a pen to vote with, not one of the pencils they provide you with. Then your 'No' should definitely count as a 'No' vote. If you write anything else other than that, it will not be counted as a 'No' vote.
If you want to vote 'No', there is no room for error. However, if you want to vote 'Yes', you can either write the word 'Yes' or you can tick the box instead. For example, if you weren't reading the instructions properly and ticked the box, then this tick would be considered an acceptable way of voting 'Yes'. This is what makes this voting process all so unfair.
If you want to vote 'No', there is only one way to do it. But if you want to vote 'Yes', there are two ways you can do it. Sounds just like the Voice to Parliament advisory body - they get two voices while the rest of us only have one.
This is very underhanded in that they are correct. A cross can mean yes, eg when filling out of a form we often answer by marking with a tick or cross. What is underhanded and thought out is the need to write YES or NO rather than having them pre-printed and you choose which one you want. This has been very well thought out to stack the YES response.
Yes, exactly. As I said in one of my earlier comments, you can't have a situation where there are two ways to vote 'yes', but only one way to vote 'no'. They should simply print the word 'Yes' and put a box next to it and underneath that, print the word 'No' and put a box next to that. People would then be required to simply tick (or cross) the box of their choice. Done.
You know, I didn't actually think that the Albanese Government would stoop this low. But they have. It is so appalling, so beyond words and so incredibly unfair. How can such a fraudulent voting system even be allowed?
Why can't we vote on this referendum in the same way we voted in previous referendums? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 1999 referendum involved ticking or crossing either the box that was next to the word 'Yes', or the box that was next to the word 'No'. This is the simplest, fairest and most straight forward way to vote.
This method of voting just put forth by the AEC is nothing but blatant cheating. Seriously, how much tax-payer money did Albanese bribe the AEC with to allow this? You can't have a situation where there are two ways to vote 'yes', but only one way to vote 'no'. How can that possibly be fair? It's beyond a joke! The Albanese Government are lying, cheating criminals!
Apparently Albanese is planning to burden SA with his presence, with the intent to 'woe' them over (manipulate and brainwash them), as they are currently considered to be an 'undecided' state.
Meanwhile, the poor old 'No' campaign will have to spend the next 6 weeks teaching everyone how to write and spell the word "NO"!!
Please readers - I urge you to keep this referendum in your prayers. Pray that God will have mercy on our country and that this evil 'voice' referendum will be defeated. Now is our one and only chance to fight this evil threat against our democracy, so please take advantage of the power of prayer!
Thanks James. The AEC have done some dodgy things over the years but this one wins the prize. I’ve worked on lots of elections and lots of people don’t read the ballot and put ticks or crosses. The AEC are well aware of this. So dodgy and boldly going where no man would go before!
If they only allow yes and no then everyone will be happy.
Some people use an X for selecting the person they want to vote for and others use it as their signature.
Allowing the tick or the cross is creating a storm in a teacup.
Why do politicians always underestimate the intelligence of the people?
Most of us know how to write yes or no and we will not be told what to do by sports or QANTAS.
Clive Palmer found out how little advertising money buys our votes and this constitutional change is going down big time unless they cheat using Konnech like they did in the last election.
We need to make our elections more secure, voter ID, stop double voting, clean up the rolls, scrutinize every vote, voluntary voting or self deletion from roll either permanent or temporary, etc.
It will be rigged! I am suspect of every election in the past 3-4 years......D.Andrews didn't win his seat and we won't get into D.Trump and 2020. Blind Freddie could see that was rigged!
The Liberal party should be going after the AEC with everything they have.
The voting process along with all those idiotic YES signs would be perfect if the question was "Should Anthony Albanese and the whole of his phoney Government be thrown into jail?" YES! YES! YES!

I was blown away when supposedly more than 50% voted for gay marriage.
So it is not a joking matter. Caution is needed and pens instead of pencils at the voting both.

A Thumbnail dipped in tar might have been less confusing?

Ha ha! Except that I think the AEC deliberately makes voting difficult. The council elections voting slips were incomprehensible.

The whole process with this referendum has been corrupt.
100% on the money. I, and many like me, are furious over this fix.

After finally finishing your book, I have to say this piece is your best yet!!! Love it James!!! Keep ‘em coming!!!
