I didn't get what he said about you.

He had just quoted your statement.

Facts are facts and opinions are opinions.

China is run as a totalitarian state, but to compare it to Australia is not fair.

The Australian government is owned by the people who bought the shares in the company registered as Australia on the stock exchange.

It doesn't matter who you vote for.

Morrison found that out after bringing a lump of coal into parliament and then being told to sign up to net zero by 2050.

I could mention a few more, but that is enough to see who runs the country.

Not the PM, not the majority party on the house of reps floor, its Blackrock, Vanguard, State street, etc. who own the country!

They tell them to jump and they ask, "how high?"

Does Gerard want to step outside his NewsCorp publishing square and submit something different to the Spectator for consideration? How authoritarian is the State of Australia considering China has not invaded another Nation in it's history, Is that a Great wall around China to keep them in or Out?

Gerard is a national treasure, he worked with Santamaria (ok, who knows about Santamaria today) and he was an office manager for John Howard. He has been around long enough to know where an incredible number of bodies are buried.

You have to be good to avoid criticism from Gerard because he pulls no punches even when the target is on our side.

He wrote an important piece in Quadrant many decades ago that blew the whistle on the Industrial Relations Club, "The Fridge Dwellers", the people who lived on the back of the wage-fixing system that in conjunction with protectionism institutionalised our low productivity and the slide to banana monarchy status.
