I personally know (have worked with) the Principal of this school.
I am pretty certain that (unless something has changed for her) that she is an emotional captive of this ideology, not an ideologue herself.
Over the past few years, us teachers have been forthrightly told by "experts" that there are more kids than we know about in our schools that will become suicidal if we don't affirm these kids' projected identity.
This comes through from multiple pathways including;
* The Physical Education curriculum (this Principal was a PE teacher) on "Sexuality Education"
* The ACARA General Capabilities Curriculum - Specifically the "Personal and Social Capabilities"
* It is starting to appear in resources to do with Respectful Relationships - which also focuses on boys being inherently problematic.
* It is starting to appear learning around "Consent Training" - which also focuses on boys being inherently problematic.
* Certain resources and training around the new Victorian Child Safe Standards
* Lay understandings of the Victorian Conversation Therapy Laws
* External groups like ACON and Minus18
* Constant media bites like "Our kids will kill themselves because some footballer refused to wear a rainbow
* An environment/culture where certain topics of now off limits because of the "harm" that discussing them will cause.
Teachers/Prinicpals are not experts in this, are not aware of the underlying ideology, have not followed the issues with this in other jurisdictions and don't have time to think deeply on these topics or question the "experts" who come across as well-meaning and caring.
As a Catholic AND a teacher who has taught in both Catholic & secular schools, I am totally appalled at this. St Bede's needs to stop calling itself a Catholic school if it goes down this path. What has happened to pride in feeling you are a great boy or " young man"? Now are the majority of people yo be ashamed of being proud of their gender? Come on people! Fight this rubbish! How is this!? You wrote last month about the Catholic Bishops telling their schools to hold fast to bioligical reality and now we have a Catholic school doing the exact opposite! What a mess. And in all these 'gender' things I always ask "Where are the parents". We need to take a page out of some of these American parents I see at their school boards.
Many years ago, a private boys school in NZ, decided to stop cottonwoolling their students. They actively encouraged tackling, muddy play, climbing trees, construction during breaks with real saws, nails and wood etc, bulrush and other high risk games. (All these activities are banned in AU schools.)
They were inundated with applications from all over NZ, and the real boys who were allowed to embrace their masculinity saw their academic results rise substantially. Behaviour at the school also improved as a result of all the energy having somewhere free to escape to. I truly hope they are still going.

Why are the, er, boys who identify as girls going to a boy's school? If the school 8s woke enough to consider gender pronouns for the gender confused, shouldnot they be woke enough to accept them as girls & send them to a girl's school?

I have noticed from a few other Catholic schools that they are being more progressive with these woketard things than the public schools. St Charles Waverly Boys to name one , invited a Drag queen to talk with the students and part of his/her/ it's discussion was encouraging boys to experiment with dressing up in their sisters clothes at home Infront of the mirror... What's going on with Catholic schools?! When the priest of St Charles Waverly college was approached by a few of the parents, he said, "it's out of his hands". Are the leaders of the Catholic church being paid to promote this or is it something else we don't know about. Also, are they trying to make the 0.1% of trans ppl feel included by encouraging more people to be like them or are they trying to recruit more people to become like them?? It is so sad that at the vulnerable age where children are coming to terms with who they are and who they are developing into that they are being opportunistically preyed upon. Parents, be more vocal at your school's and shop around if the school doesn't work for you. There's always homeschooling too if that fits in with your family... The numbers of homeschooling children have increased.
The decision makers have been got at by the cabal. Unbelievable that a religious school would do this. It is against our Bible teachings. We send/sent our children to a Christian school to be brought up in a Christian thinking and teaching atmosphere. It sickens me to read about the plan for the future of this school. No doubt other schools will follow. It must cease now. The indoctrination of our young, and the future of this country must be addressed immediately.
I think the strangers and parents should tell that Principal where he can put his stupid directive. Tis is a boys school where boys attend! I do hope and pray the backlash is strong and forceful.
