It's a hot 33* here and so I won't get hot under the collar about this story.

For an Umpire or Referee to make an error of judgement in a private get together, and he gets to go to Education lessons and a suspension is bad enough.

What would he get if he made an error in judgement at a AFL/ARL final? We've all seen those blokes cause a Grand Final fiasco in public, but seem to get away with it scot free.

Absolute nonsense. The AFL is an embarrassment. McBurney is a fool. I suppose if Leigh had refused to be ‘educated’ he’d be sacked. So humiliating for such a non issue. Wish the umpires assoc stood up for him.

what a low-dog act, being disciplined by people who were not even at the party, who were "offended". They are so panicked if this got out to the woke masses, so they had to punish this non-crime with a suspension, so he loses some games wages I guess. I try and avoid work Christmas parties these days, they say you are on work time, so no drinking more than 2std drinks, I would rather go home and do something else.

Correct ... the concern was not that it was offensive but that if it got out someone might be offended. It's called a pre-crime!

Two drinks ?not much of a party .

Look out Australia! Chinese communism has arrived! Or maybe Russian communism and he should be sent to the gulag to break rocks as his penalty for not adhering to the corporate communist rules

If Leigh Haussen would have come along dressed up as Yasser Arafat, would the progressive AFL wokers have cheered and celebrated him?

As absurd as a NO SMOKING sign on an "Electric Chair"

Should add, or dress up as Mehreen Faruqi - that could be fun.

Watch out that could be considered racist.

Yeah nah. Should be fired. What if someone dressed up as Martin Bryant, is that ok? Remember, he’s the one who shot and killed all those people at Port Arthur.

No that poor brain dead clown didnt have the skills that did that . Whoever it was was a professional killer .

AFL captured by woke. It is a modern marvel that, despite their best efforts, the game somehow survives.

BTW, I am all for girls having a go, and they are getting better, but let's not pretend that they would not be walloped by a decent Under 15 Boys team. Of course, The Australian newspaper would not allow comment that to be published.

North Melbourne are dominating the AFLW so I've suddenly, inexplicably developed a liking for it. Who knew? lol

I can’t watch it. 🙈

clearly "Australian's" aren't allowed to have a sense of humour anymore. Our culture is being killed off.

What a load of bollocks! Are these Karens for real? They’re wasted at Karen HQ. I wish they were the Senate Chair and could sanction Thorpe. Or, become a judge and sanction Faruqui and send her “Packing” (pun intended). Or become a Uni vice chancellor and suspend 100s of antisemite morons. Or join the immigration department and deport hateful mullahs. The list is endless!

Whats a Karen ? (Idont get out much )

"You have to laugh." I am James, I am! 🤣

I think for next year's end of season dress-up party, Leigh Haussen should dress up as the AFL head of umpiring, Stephen McBurney. Haussen could have fun with that while keeping the narcissistic theme rolling in his choice of characters - first a terrorist, now a socialist. What next...?
