Oh I don't know. Think of all the amazingly creative ways Victorians can "dress" that statue to show the level of respect and esteem they have for it's subject. And just think of the fun the pigeons and seagulls will have.....

I think the statue should be in the ancient Greek tradition, nude but "sans goolies" for Dan so that the whole statue with bird shit dribbling off his glasses and head would be an object of ridicule and mockery. I can hear many cameras clacking away among the tourists and locals. He may wish he hadn't pushed for a statue then.

Sans Goolies Lois?? I didnt know that the bastard had any anyway.

If they put it up, and if I ever go to Victoria again, I shall take a paint squirt gun and have fun with red paint.

When arrested I shall use the Great grandmother card and look very bewildered, maybe even dribble a little bit.

Fully agree James, however, the flaw in the logic is that Victorian kept re-electing his government (even after COVID).

Bob Johns's avatar

Oh James would you deny the poor pigeon population something extra to shit on ???

PezR's avatar

Yep, totally with you on this James. Have a good weekend all.

Should be a statue of limitations.

When he admits he ran that kid over, well consider it. Yeah, nah.

The stupidity that flows from Victoria is mind boggling

If erected, it won't last long. It'll probably end up costing more to protect it than to create it...kinda like the fallout of the Andrews government. What a legacy.

I’ve never understood the statue obsession. I don’t mind them for historical figures, long dead but remembered. Andrews is still with us, so remove the law, remove the idiots who governed alongside him and let them all fade into the background.

Please Victoria, vote the lot of them out!

Thomas J Pound's avatar

Well at least the pigeons get to shit on him.

There are a couple of reasons why the statue should go ahead - 1. History lessons for future students and advice how not to do it. 2. a nesting place for birds. But I had the thought that maybe it would be cheaper to have a wax statue of him like Madam Tousades museum, only put it in the park and watch it slowly melt. After all, Victoria isn't as hot as Queensland, and it would melt slowly.

He would be in good company.

Sorry should have been attached to Alex Hart comment

Yes, a statue for Dan Andrews. On its left a statue of Saddam Hussein and on its right a statue of Pol Pot. A trinity of benefactors of the people.

No there should be a statue of Dan Andrews in every city and town across the length and breadth of Victoria to serve as a monument to the stupidity of Victorians who kept on re-electing him.

Sometimes a reminder of what not to do is as important as recognising some one who has genuinely served the people
