I don't know about NZ but it is probably the same, but in Oz I am pretty sure that what they really want is perpetual biw & scrape days while handing out more and more money.

The people alive today have zero to be sorry about and lefties like Arden, Labor, the Greens,& half the Liberal party, just want to do what they do best: promote social unrest, disharmony, and division so that they can push for greater government control and steal our freedom.

As Jacinta Nampijimpa Price so often suggests, keeping aboriginal people in a constant state of victimhood is oppression. Let them stand on their own two feet. A hand up but no more handouts. Success comes through one's own merits bringing peace and self respect with it. The current attitude within government give some aboriginal people a licence to be abusive and racist towards white Australians. I spent time in a area with a large Aboriginal population, I treated them as I would any other person, colour never occurred to me. I was however, was regularly abused and spat on by some members of the aboriginal community. Others were great friends. They are as divided amongst each other as they are with the rest of the population. This is why the racist Voice won't work.

It is getting beyond the pale James, this sorry about everything business. Just the other day I visited my Doctor & the conversation went like this; Doctor: I'm sorry Roc, but we had to remove your colon.

Me Why?

Absolutely not! Once you forgive, you are forgiven. What I don't understand is that this country was conquered. Many other countries in the world were also conquered. If we left those people who are agrieved, in their original state, they would be living in bark huts and hunting with you know what!

They always bring it up in parliament I see it as a distraction from other more serious issues.

But yeah the thing about saying sorry is essentially asking for forgiveness if they accept the apology then you move on they have forgiven you.

Is sorry day a real attempt to ask for forgiveness for past grievances? This seems to be a feeble attempt if any to correct past ills performed against our fellow countrymen. Why don’t we create a true voice for the indigenous and ask each people group what ways if any are required to heal past indiscretions or correct current ones. I cannot believe that a single sorry caters for all the people groups throughout our great nation. Is this someone’s cooked up scheme to give the perception that someone is doing something?....like placing icing sugar on a cake...all about the WOW but has no real substance...Political racism needs to be called out it continues to use race to divide us and obtain some perceived advantage by faking how much we care for those who are in some way oppressed...the whole sorry day is a fake way of saying your helping the indigenous people when all your trying to do is fake empathy to gain votes and obtain control and power...If you truly care go and say sorry to them personally and ask them how you can personally show them that you care...for the fakers only care for the special virtue and prestige that this issue gives them.... If you care so much for our indigenous brothers and sisters go out into remote Australia and show them...then watch the fakers pull up stumps and run a mile

When activists have convinced people of their oppression, then it’s perpetual victimhood which has no place for forgiveness nor moving forward. This decidedly feeds the narrative of reparations from the ‘oppressors’.

If only they knew the life-giving Joy of Jesus’s forgiveness and redemption.

This PM openly flouts all the characteristics and actions of a dictator.

She went to the Dictator Finishing School in Switzerland. Yet there seems to be an opposition of nothing. 🤷🏼

Forgiveness is a Christian thing to do and we can’t have that! They destroy the real meaning of saying sorry/forgiveness which is a ONE off action and turn it into a dangerous quasi ‘truth’ to successfully manipulate the masses. It FEELS kind, tolerant and the right thing to do - woke doctrine - and so the mob are willingly led by the nose to their own destruction.

While we need to always stand up for God and His truth and push back, you actually cannot reason with a fool. So don’t waste your energy or breath. It’s enough to be a witness to the truth and keep building each other up. That’s how we get through this persecution and honour our God who is always protecting and sustaining us.

So it’s time to put the covered wagons in a circle and watch what God does. Our victory? Read what Elisha’s servant saw in the hills that day. 2 Kings 6:15-17 That’s what God still does for His beloved children.

True apologies keeps the focus on the action and acknowledges the feelings of the hurt party. It does not overplay the intent.

I assume they are both now dead, so who is apologizing to who?

You can't apologize for something you didn't do to someone it was not done to.

This is just Woke virtue signalling designed to divide and conquer and leave us in a mess.

Nothing Woke ever works, but it always sends you broke.

No your man got it slightly wrong James. The reason why these settlements are happening is that the Court of Appeal in 1987 said there needed to be redress for "breaches" of the Treaty. They were actually correct in that thefts way way back in the day by the Crown left the Maori in a parlous economic state. Said Court also made some silly obiter comments about the Treaty being a partnership. It is those comments that have screwed successive Governments ever since and built up a grievance industry among young semi educated Maori some of whom have been appointed judges of our highest courts. Now there is a Waitangi Tribunal that is merely a communist think tank, there are many people who are on the gravy train grievance industry as no one involved has any money of course so they are literally thrown money as legal aid, there is now a Government full of Maori agitators who want everything yesterday including a royalty for all water use even on farms and the Treaty settlement you discussed which is one of hundreds over the past 30 years which have all been in full and final settlement are now no such thing as "full and final" has been redefined. I will not comment on the apology as we are far too pissed off with this Government and its ridiculous apologies that I cannot be seemly and you know how unseemly I can become. Those are our problems most of which will be redressed after next year's election as there will be a revolution to eradicate all things Treaty, Maori, etc whilst we instil into our system both administrative and legislative the notion of "people" rather than Maori. Then we will all be happy except the Maori agitators who have had it far too easy up to now and will have nothing to do. And do you know what, the best thing is that Jacinda will be given an almighty elbow and hopefully will go away to some communist regime like the UN to rot and take her little kid with her as we don't want this happening ever again.
