I've just reconsidered my remuneration for the Greens. They're not even worth the rusty safety pins I mentioned. Give each one of them a raw egg - thrown at their heads!
Great idea! There was a time in the distant past, when politicians didn't receive pay, but it only allowed the very wealthy to govern, however, it wasn't the cash cow that it is today. So I agree with you James, pay them what they are worth (less)
