WINNER of the absolute worst take on the transgender issue goes to ABC journalist Jim Malo who tweeted this gem:
“A regular reminder that the same arguments made against transgender athletes are the same arguments that were made against Black people.”
Wait. What?!?
Preventing black people who used to be white people from playing sport literally never happened!
Thursday April 21
FORMER Labor MP and and past president of the Australian Medical Association Professor Kerryn Phelps is continually railing against any relaxation of Covid restrictions.
On Thursday she helpfully tweeted:
“A friendly reminder we are still in the midst of the COVID pandemic”
You want to know how bad the pandemic is? It’s so bad that - if it wasn’t for Professor Phelps’ reminders - I wouldn't know there was one!
Still, some people love to lockdown.
Meanwhile, Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews has said he will end pandemic restrictions … in July!
That’s right. Victoria is still being governed under emergency legislation.
So for at least another two months, an unvaccinated person can eat at a restaurant but cannot work at the same restaurant. Because, you know … science.
ALSO on Thursday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison apologised for saying he and his wife were “blessed” to have healthy children.
The comment, made Wednesday in response to a question from the mother of an autistic son, drew condemnation from Labor politicians and disability rights activists who accused the PM of insinuating that disabled children were not a blessing.
“I meant no offence by what I said last night, but I accept that it has caused offence to people,” Mr Morrison said.
Let me give you three reasons Mr Morrison should NOT have apologised.
Firstly, he said nothing wrong.
Those who got offended were only able to be offended by twisting the PM’s words to ensure that they heard something he did not say so that they could be offended.
Those who were offended wanted to be offended.
Mr Morrison simply made the obvious statement that he was blessed to have healthy children and so could not pretend to fully appreciate the struggles other families went through.
If you say the wrong thing you should apologise. But if you’ve said or done nothing wrong, do not apologise.
The second reason Mr Morison should not have apologised is because those claiming to be offended were not acting in good faith. They had deliberately mischaracterised the PM’s remarks in order to whip up outrage.
Within hours the PM was being misquoted all over social media. This quotation was doing the rounds …
“My ‘normal’ kids are better than your defective ones” - Australian Prime Minister, 2022
Mr Morrison said no such thing.
And anyone reading that quote, even if they had no knowledge of the event, would have to think … wait a second, does that really sound like something the Prime Minister would say? Seriously?
Did Mr Morrison really believe an apology would placate such bad actors?
When progressive leftists demand an apology it is not an apology they are looking for.
They want you to admit their baseless charges against you have some validity so they can use that admission to finish you off.
The left don’t want to forgive and restore you; they want to destroy you. The apology serves only as blood in the water.
Third, in apologising for perfectly innocuous remarks Mr Morrison has empowered the mob to do it all over again the next time they decide they want to mischaracterise anything any of us say.
The apology made things worse. Not better.
And while I’m on this, give me one example of a conservative apologising for causing offence and being forgiven by the left.
Conservative: “I apologise for my remarks, I didn’t mean to offend.”
Lefties: “Oh that’s okay. We understand you didn’t meant it the way we took it. We’re sorry for not giving you the benefit of the doubt.”
Group hug
It’s never happened.
Wednesday April 20
What’s with women these days?
News site MetroUK ran a story Wednesday about a woman who started stripping off her clothes in front of fellow train travellers as she accused them of being Muslim terrorists who needed to be shot.
One thing is for sure, women sure ain’t what they used to be!
And then I saw the news photograph. The media tells us not to believe our lying eyes. But though I’m no biologist, I’m pretty sure I know what a woman looks like. And the Muslim hating, clothes shedding star of the story looks to me suspiciously like a man. Which, of course, he was.
This is why, these days, you can’t just read the news. You need to actually use your own eyes.
Speaking of which, did you see this story about America’s Today Show doctoring images of male “woman” swimmer Lia Thomas so that he would look more feminine?
Doctoring news photos is a violation of everything journalism stands for.
Nothing obliges the media - whether it’s MetroUK or the Today Show - to report these stories in such an obviously absurd way. They discredit their own reputation by doing so.
Meanwhile, while journalists move from reporting news to lying about and even faking the news, crime statistics will increasingly be meaningless.

After that last item I couldn’t be bothered reporting on the rest of the week. I’m going to make a sandwich. Lately, I’ve really taken to peanut butter sandwiches accompanied by a glass of milk. That’s my news!
Oh, also, my sons and I enjoyed fish and chips at Manly. If you’ve never met us, this is us! Have a great weekend.
Hi James, you have an uncanny ability to put into words what many of us are feeling and thinking but are struggling to articulate in a world gone mad. Keep up the great work.
My heart sank when I realised our PM had apologised for saying something he did not say. I hoped against hope that he could be a man, a PM who could learn from his mistakes.
Clearly he knows the implications of what he has done or worse, it’s a strategic move a demonstration of how we the Australian people are expected to behave?
