The Rise and Rise of Power Bills
I cannot work out which is more incredible – the claims this government makes, or the fact that this government expects Australians to believe their claims.
This Labor government continually promises to reduce cost of living while increasing the cost of living.
Their strategy to lower prices is to increase prices.
If I could afford to laugh, I would.
Renewable energy is the cheapest form of energy, the Prime Minister chants zombie-like, as prices rise in direct proportion to his use of renewable energy.
I swear every time he utters the words “renewable energy”, my power bill goes up.
Australians are caught in a kind of twilight zone where we are continually told to expect cheaper power while continually told to expect more expensive power.
Oh, but don’t worry, you’ll still get that promised $275 cut to your power bill. It’s just that your power bill will have gone up by a couple of thousand dollars before Labor cut it by a couple of hundred dollars.
The Prime Minister will then claim, with a straight face, that he has saved us money. And my teenage son worries that he is the one struggling with math!
This is a government that believes it can keep global temperatures in check when it can’t even keep a $275 promise to struggling families in the suburbs.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers explained today that the delay in providing the promised cut was due to a flaw in the modelling.
"That model was done in 2021, and it referred to an outcome in 2025," he said.
But don't worry, the government’s modelling about how taxing cow farts will stop the warming of the planet and the rising of the oceans is totally legit!
This Labor government insists that renewable energy is the cheapest form of energy, or at least it will be, just as soon as they spend another $10b of your money here, and another $10b there.
How much will it cost taxpayers to end up with cheap power?
The answer is always the same.
Just a little bit more.
If you believe the government’s obsession with intermittent energy will deliver cheap power, you have the one prerequisite necessary to do energy minister Chris Bowen’s job – wishful thinking.
Expect him to provide a unicorn with your next power bill.
The government promised it would reduce power bills by $275. Now it says that promise won’t apply until 2025!
The government promised renewable energy would result in cheaper power. Now it says power prices will rise by 56 per cent over the next two years.
The government promised we would become a renewable energy superpower (whatever that means). Now a survey has shown Australians are taking shorter showers, going to bed earlier to keep warm and avoiding using their heating.
The government promised it had a plan. Now we realise they had a target foisted on them by globalists and hastily agreed to, but no plan as to how to realise it without destroying the economy and people’s lives.
It’s a disaster.
Much like the last nearly 3 years of covid insanity, everything we are witnessing is co-ordinated to bring people to their knees; financially, physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. Pandemic emergency powers, food and power shortages and escalating prices for both, the threat of nuclear conflict, climate change cultism and the 'existential threat' that poses, the incessant division of society based on skin colour, gender and sexual preferences through Godless ideologies and overt social engineering. Those calling the shots on behalf of their master are waiting for humanity's breaking point. That point when the masses are too tired, weak, frightened, exasperated and hopeless to resist any longer.
Our only hope is to be found in Jesus Christ - the rock of our salvation and anchor in the storms of life. Everything else is shifting sand, collapsing and being undermined on a whim by the enemy of our soul whose only goal is to steal, kill and destroy. This world is on a one way ticket to oblivion. Look to Jesus and the finished work of calvary He accomplished on our behalf. There is no other way to know true peace and assurance regardless of what is to come.
I was thinking why does our government seem to have no plan to lower power costs like using Putin and the war in the Ukraine as a reason is complete nonsense! Then I realised.,,the mass uptake of domestic solar panels has failed and very few homes have volunteered to take up the product while the grid has provided us with affordable electricity....so let’s use the sheer expense of electricity to push the population off the grid...I’m wondering if they are using the cost factor to force people who need power off the unaffordable grid...onto unreliable and intermittent solar...I mean we have barely had a sunny day all year with four major rain events dominating our skies...who cares anyway? We have the climate change activist elites who have wait for it invested millions into renewables...so sheer greed and self interest is governing their actions..not fixing so called climate change....Australia hasn’t changed we are still a land of droughts and flooding rains...,I hope someone gets innovative and thwarts their attempt to gain a massive windfall and brings in small scale nuclear to change the solar and wind energy poor monopoly that someone is trying to set up at any cost! Thwart the money grab and change the power market while we can! Or bring on more CO2 efficient coal plants..either way we need a miracle to get off this renewable lunacy! I mean we are forcing people on low or set incomes to live in the cold and dark...who can afford a forecasted 50% price increase on those powe bills!
