This garbage has been creeping in for a while. Mums deserve their day. The others get their day to celebrate during the all things evil parade/week/month. It is just another avenue of attack on the nuclear family.
Mothers, and later Fathers day were started to encourage children to appreciate and thank their parents who have done so much for them.
Even elderly people like the day to pause and give a silent thought and thanks for their long dead parents and all they did for them and for their love when they were young.
Exactly, Mothers and Fathers day has been a thing for yonks, during that time there were always children who had lost a Mother or Father but the world didn't have to change, caring family would have encouraged the child to honor their parent. Just like what is happening now when everyone gets a prize in a race etc. nobody loses everyone is equal except that is not what happens in real life so the kids today are being done a disservice.
Everyone starts off with a mother! The father might have shot through or still be a part of the foundations of the family. But mothers usually are the cuddliest!
If 2 men get together, they must include a mum to start the family cycle.
If 2 women want a family, they also must employ part of a man to complete their cycle. (Follow?)
So then we have a dad and a mum with children. OK? Mums the cuddly one.
Also a dad and dad who thinks he's a mum, and a poor sole with no idea who their real mum is. Not so cuddly mum.
And a mum who thinks she's a dad and a mum who had to have another man make her a mum and a poor soul who only sees two females and wonders how he got into this mess. Both could be cuddled! See?
Come mothers day and one sole sees a loving mum and a dad, (perhaps), another sees two men one who pretends to be a mum receive a mothers day gift, and another poor sole who sees two mums and is totally lost as to why only one of them is getting a mothers day gift!

How dumb! So many children miss out on mothers, exactly as they miss out on fathers. That is life. Whoever looks after a child, be it grandmother, aunt or some other person, Mothers Day is still pertinent. You can bet by September, Fathers Day will have to be called by another name. Just leave it alone and stop changing everything!
