I read your piece in the Oz. I just have a real problem with the word race. We are one race from Adam then Noah. "Racism " is an evolutionary term that implies that God created different "races " at different times. We are all descended from Adam and then Noah. So our differences are cultural. To want to separate us is wrong because we all belong to the same human race. To have to guard our speech because we might offend someone by a look or a word is ridiculous . We already have to do that on so many topics. it is a way of shutting us down.

JM you’re a shinning light of sanity in a world where the nuts have taken control of the asylum.

Absolutely everyone can have fear that micro aggression , real or otherwise, is directed at them. If you are black, white or brindle, it may be an action or a personality trait, that is the cause.

This is a slippery slope indeed, James. We are in so much trouble and division because people don't realise that we have a common ancestor ( Adam- literally "red man") so we are all brothers and sisters -same family, different, dialects, colours, personalities etc. but one in our humanity. Why hate and division? This is what the enemy wants and celebrates.

This is how we get to 1984.

Everyone is not only checking others very critically so that there can be no peace, but they will do the same to themselves. I doubt they will sleep well at night.

Seeing racism everywhere, although it is only in your mind, is a form of racism.

When we do not see race as a factor in others then we know that we are not racist.

In fact we could say that everyone who leaves their inheritance to their own children is a racist, but that just shows how ridiculous this all is.

This is all designed as a distraction from the real problems that politicians are unable to solve.

Not to diminish this article as the aspect of micro racism and micro aggression and your statement about it is valid, however, why are these types of things directed towards people of colour? Why not just people? Racism exists everywhere. Ones skin colour has nothing to do with hatred or discrimination. Matter of fact racism exists to a certain degree because of racism. They did this to me so I hate them and their kind because of it. Racism exists between people of colour, people with different ethnic backgrounds, different tribes etc. Yes whiteys have a lot to answer for but try and be a whitey in Japan, China, India, Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan…shall I go on? Whiteys are discriminated against too. Hatred and anger is hatred and anger. Skin colour is an excuse, an avenue to direct one’s hatred and anger and feeling of worth or worthlessness.

I have always taught my children that their black cousins are just that...their cousins! No difference between them. We are all equal. We are all part of the human race.

When people's self worth and identity is entirely wrapped up in their position on the imaginary scale of supposed victimhood, don't expect them to ever move beyond it or seek to rise above it for it is where they find perpetual meaning.

For most, leaving that worldview behind is to lose all relevance or reason to exist at all.

I believe this nonsense is encapsulated thus: Your worthwhile Jacinta who should be revered by her people v our worthless Jacinda who tokenises other people.

Subtle-racism and micro-aggressive behaviour?

While they are at it, why not add “belief that someone was thinking of subtle-racism and micro-aggressive behaviour”. Then they could introduce the Thought Police ‘1984’ style.

I despair for our future.

Hasn’t dictator Dan already implemented laws for thought Police?

It wouldn’t surprise me Connie.

It is no surprise that these politicians want to implement these rules. That way anyone who questions their policies can be accused of subtle-racism or micro-aggressive behaviour. Seriously these people are evil.
