How gutless of Australia to abstain - may God help our nation under this spineless, self seeking government - one day they will answer to a Higher and Just authority. "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us (them) guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act".

I stopped listening to anything the UN said 50 years ago in 1973 when I was flying a light aircraft for a maritime salvage operation on UN contract. I was in the Brit High Comission bar for 'a drinks evening" ie friday piss up for expats and associate hangers on I was discussing flying with a couple of RAF crewmen who s aircraft had delivered two wessex helicopters to the Bangladesh military ,when this well dressed and spoken gentleman of Indian diplomatic origin stated 'You are Australian"? When I answered yes he began to giggle . Oh Really When I asked if I had said something funny his reply was you people! !15 million of you cant be expecting to keep that vast continent all to yourselves do you? I still didnt get what he was on about and said so he replied well, when Rhodesia and South Africa are sorted out you lot are next!!my pungent reply was 'We shoot about 7 million kangaroos a year , gun control doesnt exhist so why dont you come down and have a go you b---- c--- picked up my dummy and went back to my digs. Trouble is while it has taken longer than I though it would the UN bastard was right. I spent almost 6 months in that place and my opinion of the UN became less the longer I was there 10%kick back on every contract.

Whatever the UN assembly, or anybody else for that matter calls for, Israel will not and should not give a damn about. They have pushed Israel into a corner. The only way out now is over a mountain of Israel's dead enemies.

An hour ago I saw a young woman from some university being interviewed by the ABC where she stated - with a straight face - that Israel is not at war with HAMAS, but "with children" (!)

United Nations? United??What an oxymoron. It’s just an outdated, greedy, corrupt, complicated, ineffective, unelected group living the high life on donations which could be better used within the countries supporting it.

Apart from humanitarian aid they never seem to reach full agreement on anything.

The result of the vote shows just how divided our world is and was a very good indication of which sides will be enemies when the proverbial hits the fan.

Many commentators were lauding the result (a failed vote to condemn Hamas) as a victory for Israel because 88 nations supported it.

I believe Australia abstained.

Thanks James. That explains it.

Australia abstained from the original motion, put by Arab nations, calling for a humanitarian truce. That motion was passed 120 to 14 with 45 abstaining including Australia.

Canada sought to amend that motion by including condemnation of Hamas' terror attack. It was this amendment (requiring a 2/3rds majority) that failed. Australia supported that amendment.

To abstain from voting is to vote silently, totally disgusting, it just shows that the people in power are true cowards, our Aussie "leaders" have lost any semblance of a backbone. we need to start electing and promoting people who stand for something rather than nothing and who fall for everything!

In 2017 Donald Trump made a speech to the UN condemning them as "underperformers" and that they were not a friend to the USA (even though they were the major funding source) and also that they were "not a friend of Israel". All too clear to see now!

Thanks James for this. Keep reminding us about what’s happened because we have very short memories in Australia as in the West in general.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many show the world openly how ignorant and blind they really are. When people worship anything other than the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob, they become like the thing/s they worship. We’re seeing this reality more every day:

Psalms 135:15-18

‘The idols of the nations are silver and gold,

the work of human hands.

They have mouths, but do not speak;

they have eyes, but do not see;

they have ears, but do not hear,

nor is there any breath in their mouths.

Those who make them become like them,

so do all who trust in them.’

James, your passion is a true response to the madness around us. What do you do when so many, even friends, cannot see how they have come to support evil? I am pulled into a place that says prayer is a right response, and I am no longer the catholic I was once. Then after prayer, do what you do, James...read and think carefully. Support each other. See the evil and its supporters clearly. Then pray some more that enough good people do enough good things. That includes the Israelis and their soldiers.

None of this is new.

Mohamed started 28 wars of conquest, forced conversion and to capture people to sell as slaves.

A city of 41,000 Jews was ordered to convert to his new religion. When they refused he slaughtered them all.

1 of his 13 wives was a Jewish prisoner. She saw her city murdered, her father and brothers killed, was captured, married and raped by Mohamed, all in 1 day. She managed to out live him.

Most of Mohameds family died in the civil war between his followers after he died as they fought for power and his vast wealth that he had looted from the communities he had enslaved.

Moslems complain about being attacked by the Christian crusaders but this was approx 4 centuries after Mohamed and after more than 20 million people had been killed by invading moslem armies. I could go on!

And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practising evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed (Jn 3:19-20). This so explains what is happening today. If only these people who hate the Jews would come to the light of truth, they would never be saying the things they are saying. There is a huge divide happening today and as Jesus said - you are either for me or against me- Israel is a nation of people who don't worship God, however, God has a plan for their ultimate salvation and it is not good if we turn our back on them. It is grievous to see just how full of hate the nations are toward Israel.

We are seeing prophecy fulfilled. The nations are indeed filled with hate. Blinded by it. Will be judged for it. Maranatha.

Once again you have accurately summarised the blatant hatred for the Jews that has been with us as long as Israelites have. What's that old saying? Something about not learning from history and repeating it... or something like that. Vilifying the entire nation of Israel and wishing for their complete annihilation? Calling for the gassing of Jews and wiping them from the planet entirely? Can't say that rings any bells.

One thing's for sure - and your timely referencing of scripture reiterates this - we are not witnessing a political struggle or fight for land. This is not a battle for human rights nor a conflict over resources. We are seeing in real time the spiritual battle spoken of in God's word. The age old hatred for the Jewish people being waged, not just by some lunatic with a funny moustache any longer, but by an increasing number worldwide to whom Israel will soon become a cup of trembling.

God still has a covenant with his people, Israel. And after the wickedness is dealt with, those who did nothing, especially in the West, will have to answer to Him.

I am appalled by what is happening. The UN has, in my opinion, been an evil organisation for some time. For anyone to try and justify what has been done to the Jewish people this past few weeks is beyond my comprehension. We have disgraceful journalists looking the other way and politicians celebrating murder. We are being ruled by very weak leaders. The further they are from God, the weaker they are.
