The principal of Birrong Girls High School has warned that “escalating homophobia” and “hostility between students” will not be tolerated.
A letter sent home to parents, and published by the Daily Telegraph, said …
“Recently there has been an escalation of homophobic abusive behaviour towards students. This is unacceptable and we have zero tolerance for any abusive or disrepectful behaviour,” she wrote.
“The school must be a safe and happy place for all who attend.”
Wow. What’s gotten into these girls? Why all the sudden homophobia?
Here’s a clue …
The letter noted that Friday August 26 was Wear It Purple Day, a day where young people are encouraged to celebrate LGBTIQA+.
Ooookay.
The principal wrote:
“On this day some staff will be wearing purple to express that we are inclusive, caring and respectful towards all students no matter how they identify. Students have been given permission to wear a purple accessory should they choose to do so.”
She added:
“There has been inflammatory, inaccurate and defamatory information communicated on social media sites about our school and this coming Friday. This is very disappointing and unnecessary.”
What’s interesting about all of this is that Birrong is located in the Canterbury/Bankstown region where there is a high percentage of ethnic families.
It is estimated 84% of girls from the Birrong school are from non-English speaking homes.
I could be wrong, but this sounds less like an episode of Mean Girls and more like a clash of worldviews.
Is it possible that sexual preferences are being promoted in a public school attended by a high number of children from ethnic and religious families, and the ethnic and/or religious families don’t want it?
Could it be that these kids aren’t so much hating on other kids as they are hating on what they see - rightly or wrongly - as sexual perversions being shoved down their throats?
Most kids still go to school expecting to learn their ABCs, not their LGBTQs.
It's funny how wearing some random colour or fabricated symbol of inclusion and acceptance is even necessary when the idea of a school uniform is to be the great leveller, where all are seen as equal and included regardless of your particular worldview. By consciously adding to the uniform you are, by default, bringing attention to something and deliberately making an announcement about it, when in reality no one was particularly asking for it or needing it.
I just last night read an article by Maurice Newman that spoke about how the English general strike in the 1926 did not bring about the revolution that the socialists wanted. It has taken them decades to make way through the long march of the institutions.
I am so tired of this being overlooked in the name of “tolerance”. The disciples of Derrida and Foucault have done their masters bidding well.
We need you James as at least one honest voice in the media to call things out for what is going on. So glad you are being noticed and now have a voice on Sky news.
Brilliant work 👏👏👏
