The appearance of the man in question is enough to make me feel very unwell. As I am from Noo Zild, I know nothing of him but his whole look is gruesome and gives me a strong desire to run very fast in the opposite direction. We have 'The Project' here also, but a Noo Zild version, I think they may be related through genetic media DNA. I also stay away from it, and even when our household watched the telly, it wasn't the current affairs (if that's what it can be called) show that we tended to view.

Comedians who make jokes about religion as their best work are not funny at all, if that is the best they can do then they need to do something else. I think it is the lowest form of comedy to make fun of a person's beliefs or morals or values. We have had decades of this so called humour and it is now time for these 'entertainers' to come up with new material. And if they must make fun of religion then it needs to be across all religions as per your article not just focusing on Christians. Would these comedians like it if Christians made fun of them and their lifestyle/beliefs? No.

And the One whose right it is to have the last laugh, is not even amused. If only they knew how much He loves them.

I could never get the left's attempts at humor, never watch the Project and that is why I only watch the debate team with James and the Outsiders with Rowan.

You need brains to be a good comedian, the Project has none, James and Rowan have more than enough to get the jokes rolling like a ball down a hill. It seems natural when you have brains.

The left is still stuck in the toilet and insult humor of the 60's.

I don’t know how anyone could watch these shows, just garbage all of them.

Society as a whole has stooped so low we’re definitely in for some dark times ahead.

Sarah Harris and her family actually attended a Pentecostal church that I attended at the time she was finishing high school and then when she commenced her early media career. So Sarah certainly had access to a much stronger gospel message than she would ever be likely to hear in the Catholic Church. Whilst she might have been caught off guard with the somewhat crass joke, an apology to Christian believers should have been forthcoming. By way of comparison, it is considered high toxic for medial or anyone else to mock the Anzac's who fought and died for their country, and I totally concur with this point of view. Christian's hold the heart felt belief that Jesus Christ died to pay the price for the sins of all mankind. To mock Jesus, for his sacrifice, is something Reuben Kate and anyone else who holds the same beliefs will have to give an account for one day.

with regards to "...but make crass jokes about Muhammad, and there’s no telling what might happen."

No - We know EXACTLY what would happen.

"we can’t joke about religion" would Sarah and Waleed be so concerned and accommodation should comedians on their show mocked the alphabet mob so. I bet not. I bet that is taboo. Could you imaging the outcry. They would be gone over night. Hypocrites.

As an atheist (photos supplied upon request) with no skin in the game, I would say you are spot on James. Of course the double standards don't stop with religion.

Yes, I agree, James. Where to start? Jesus was no stranger to persecution and his captors were ruthless and cruel. He told us that following Him would cost. When people mock, I recall Jesus saying, forgive them Father, because they don't know what they are doing. And that is just it, they don't know or they would not dare to curse and make fun of the one who IS love. He came for them/ us, but it does not diminish the pain we feel when Jesus is mocked.

Great work James.

Left wing hypocrisy...who knew.

We all kinow wht Christianity is the butt of crass jokes. Satan has the rest of them. I doubt I would ever watch The Project as Channel 10 seems to have rubbish only. I have never hyeard a person blaspheme the name of Buddha or Mohamed or any other name, but only the name that is above all names. When I hear anyone say that, I smile and ask "Do you know Him too"? I usually get a "eh?" then I tell them He is my best friend

Recently I commented on the Loretta Scene out of the Life of Brian movie - a scene featuring Stan who wanted to be a woman so that he could have babies even though as a man he couldn’t have babies. It seems that the New York stage production to be played soon must remove that sketch to be allowed in New York. To my horror, despite his admirable public protestations against PC doing harm to good comedy, Cleese is acceding to the demand. Here we have a whole play parodying Jesus, but you can’t parody the alphabet people. It’s a wonder the speech impaired aren’t demanding the deletion of the stuttering jailer, or the social bleeding hearts with the beggar scene, or the Italians with the entire representation of the Romans, or the Orthodox Jews……etc, ad nauseum.

So true! 🎯

Absolutely! You nailed it (pun intended).

P.S. I didn’t even know Reuben Kaye’s meaning of nailed until he said this revolting thing about our Lord.

Knowing the meaning of his depraved words just makes it all so much worse.

So true. So one sided. We know what happens when jokes are made about Mohammed - the staff at Charlie Hebdo can testify to that. Clever jokes about religion are funny but Reuben Kate was just crude like most comedians today.
