Most celebrities in the entertainment industry are exactly the same as the majority of Australian politicians; Their life revolves around the tenets; The most important person in the room is me, my ideas are the only ones that count, bow down before me because you should be kneeling in the presence of a very important man/woman, and finally the closest comparison, I'm a mere actor playing a role and I'll forget every word I said today by tomorrow morning.... And except for the last one, which most would of course disown on reading as it's the only true statement, there is no hint of truth in their self assessments or basis for their self confessed "worth"
There are a very small number of both where this does not apply of course. Sam Neill is one from the entertainment world, and Pauline Hanson is one from the political sphere. They have very few comparable peers, especially in politics....
Baldwin managed to name-drop more celebrities than you can poke a stick at while simultaneously dropping the one name everyone was there for. Classy as ever Alec.
On a side note, while we’re name-dropping, Sam, like fellow celebrities John Clarke, Neil Finn and Russell Crowe, was a kiwi ; )
