At the end of my recent comment I wrote that God is in control of world events and we can all put our trust in Him.
If anyone would like verification of that fact may I draw your attention to a book called the Josiah Manifesto by Jonathan Cahn. What he reveals in the book is beyond amazing and well worth reading.
I don't have shares in Koorong, or a desire to increase Jonathan Cahn's income, but Koorong has 20 percent off everything in stock on Boxing day so if anyone would like some good reading matter for the New Year I believe that the book is available. It would be a good publication for the woke folk to read.
The trouble with Christmas is that a long time ago Xmas was inserted and 'Christ" removed. There were those who found ways to explain or justify the alteration but it seemed as if the Woke generation was sniping at Christianity then. They may tear down statues of past famous people but they'll never shred my Faith. Happy Christmas to James and family and the 'family' I've made during these posts. It's a lot of fun.
I would like to join the rest on this comment page and wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Christmas.
I think we all appreciate your intelligent and often very funny assessments of situations, where humour is appropriate. They say that laughter is the best medicine and some of your articles, along with people's comments, certainly provide plenty of that kind of medicine. We all need it in this crazy world.
We also appreciate the more serious articles and the fact that people have the opportunity to express how they feel, so thank you James for all your input.
Whatever situations confront.us we know that God is in control and we can all put our trust in Him.
Once again - spot on👍WOKE = no achievement worthy of a statue. A blessed and a Happy Christmas to you James, your writings and humour provide us all with lightness amidst the gloom of current events🌲
And a Merry Xmas to you too. Well James that was really a bit dark. 😀 as I sit on the sofa reading this on Xmas Eve (if it’s still called that) but unfortunately the Woke are still with us. I suspect 2024 will bring us more of the same and then some. Guess next Happy New Year celebrations will be questioned too.. in the meantime wishing you and your family and all fellow subscribers to your blog a wonderful Xmas and a Happy New Year.
Indeed! Merry Christmas to James and his family. I hope he has a well deserved break and is able to catch up on some sleep! 😊 A very merry Christmas to you too, Bella. Thank you for all your lovely, encouraging comments!
Well said, indeed there is no need to erect any statues for the achievements of now are so insignificant and fleeting they are truly worthless vs what was accomplished in the past!
As I read your article, I was almost starting to believe in devolution! The beauty of the past is thrown on the dung heap of History and these creatures who have devolved into something sub human are rising up and proclaiming themselves the authority of everything.. how sad. Once again I cry God help us!
we truly have devolved so far, yet they can't see how far they have fallen, so blinded by their own fancies and whims thinking they are more superior than anything before.
This reinterpretation of the past is just tiresome. It becomes very boring when everything is viewed through the lens of these ignorant and uniformed Wokesters. We have a lot to be thankful for as we view history with the correct lens.
An exceptional and searingly superb assessment of the graceless, merciless, unforgiving, theocratic tyranny of living under the rule of the self-appointed priests and priestesses sitting loftily above us all, and especially all who have come before us, in the Cult of Wokenism. Unlike the Gospel of Jesus Christ there is no forgiveness, no peace, no redemption and no amount of repentance that may absolve the sinner in the Church of Woketopia.
It's a cleansing of society's collective soul by tearing down every benefit, every achievement and every advancement our ancestors have afforded us by removing them from the history books and our minds, and living in a world where we pretend they never existed. It's a rewriting of history that views all who have gone before through a lens of sanctimonious self-entitlement and unfathomable self-righteousness. It is a revisionist view on the world that fails to recognise we only stand where we do thanks to the sacrifices, the endeavours and yes, the shoulders of those who came before us.
Contrary to this, my grandfather was a humble Christian, who was a long-term missionary in Bangladesh and a minister for many years after that. He passed away when he was 93. I remember he once said, "The longer I live, the more I learn how much I don't know." I believe this quote came out of a yearning to grow in knowledge and wisdom in his walk with God.
Heather can you tell a little more about your grandfathers ministry. I have visited and been involved in a bible college there for 10 years before it was closed in 2014. Some of the church here in Aust found the work too difficult and the people too different to white middle class Australians. All the students at the college were new converts, mostly the 1st generation in their families ever to learn to read, many had only a year 9 or 10 education and rural backgrounds from both M and H families. Some have fallen away but many today are faithfully witnessing and teaching, while trying to feed their families despite the persecution and occasional martyrdom.
Andrew, my grandfather's name was Harry West and his wife's name was Edith. My grandparents left Brisbane to go to India/Bangladesh in 1951 with my mother, who was only 5 at the time. They were over there for about 12 years in total (except for one year in the middle when they came back for furlough). My grandparents were members of the Baptist church. They were supported and sent by the Baptist church of Qld, but I can't remember the name of the group they served as part of. I know that my grandfather was involved in church planting and helping support and equip the local church members and leaders. He spoke fluent Bengali and ministered to the locals through this language. I am not sure whether you have heard of Symbiosis International at all? It was founded by Morris Lee. Symbiosis was what came out of the ministry my grandfather was involved with. You can look up their website for more info.
I'd be interested to know more about the ministry you were involved in or whether any of what I have shared sounds familiar to you. But for now, have a very merry Christmas!
And Shakespeare would say of those progressives, something like he did in Henry IV..."Thou clay-brained guts, thou knotty pated fool, thou whoreson obscene greasy tallow-catch!"

Merry Christmas to all the amazing beautiful souls in this community!
You make every day worth fighting for, knowing we all stand together for what is right and good!
We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for James, so Thank-you Mac, have a blessed and rest filled Christmas with your family!

Tiresome BS MOB..
MERRY XMAS James..❤💚🎄🎅
Great work James! A good laugh to start our Christmas festivities. A great summary of the tedious and useless woke ideology. Merry Christmas!
Tiresome, irksome, exhausting, and nauseating.

Pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall - ain’t that the truth!

Very well written James and Alex.
People who have achieved nothing themselves want to destroy any recognition and thanks for the achievements of all others.
Excellent comment Alex. In complete agreement with you and James’s article.
The arrogance of these fools is astounding!

What an amazing history! The wonderful lives that people lead!

The Bard had a lot of insults befitting the left.
Love it 👍
