The Albanese Government 'Stands with the Families of Hostages' ... Nek Minit
Has there ever been a government so out of its depth, so lacking in moral clarity, and so blind to unintended consequences?
I’m beginning to think there is no situation the Albanese Government cannot make worse.
Every time we are tempted to think that they couldn’t possibly balls things up even more, they do.
Their incompetence is matched only by their unfailing ability to outdo themselves with even greater ineptitude, over and over again.
‘You thought that was bad? Watch this!!’ is now almost a daily refrain.
Take, for instance, Penny Wong’s belated trip to Israel.
I say belated because our Foreign Minister waited until three months after 1200 Israelis were slaughtered before getting around to visiting our Middle Eastern ally.
How does the expression go? ‘Better late than never’?
And yet, in now typical Labor fashion, Wong managed to mangle even that.
Not only was Wong late in showing solidarity with Israel, but she first visited Jordan where she announced millions of dollars for Gaza.
It was a hell of a way to show love for Israel.
Gaza, you might remember, is where the October 7 attacks came from.
Gazan civilians participated in the attacks, celebrated the attacks and, even now, are actively assisting Hamas in holding hostages.
Whatever. Here’s $21.5m from Australian taxpayers.
Like I said, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse. But wait … it gets even worserer.
After giving away our money, Wong then admitted she couldn’t be sure that the millions wouldn’t end up in the pockets of terrorists.
No problem. Penny Wong told a meeting of Palestinian Authority officials that the money – intended to pay for civilian healthcare and childhood education – must not be misused by terrorists.
I imagine the conversation went something like this …
Wong: ‘Here’s $21.5m. Now, er, you’re not going to use it to shoot rockets at Jews are you?’
Palestinian Leaders: ‘Us? Noooo.’
Wong: ‘Oh good. Wait. Pinky swear?’
Palestinian Leaders: ‘Cross our hearts, hope to die (as martyrs)’
Wong: ‘You really are wonderful human beings.’
Palestinian Leaders: ‘Who is this homosexual infidel?’
Labor have never seen a problem that couldn’t be fixed by lip service and taxpayer dollars. And, like I said, Labor have never seen a problem they couldn’t make even worse.
When Wong eventually arrived in Israel, having just handed their tormentors millions of dollars, she insisted that the Albanese Government stood with the hostages and their families.
That should have sent a chill done the spine of every hostage family member.
The very next day it was revealed that the Albanese Government had not yet declared the October 7 a terrorist attack.
That failure meant Australian Jews who lost loved ones in the attack are still - more than 100 days later - not able to access financial assistance through the Victim of Terrorism Overseas Payment.
The $75,000 payment would help Australian Jews - like one woman in Perth who lost a mother, a brother and a niece in the attack - to fly to Israel to grieve their dead, as well as to cover funeral and other costs.
More than 50 overseas terrorist attacks have been recognised under the legislation, including the US September 11 attacks, the Bali bombings, the 2005 London bombings, the 2015 ISIS attacks in Paris and the 2019 Christchurch mosque attack.
But the Albanese Government is still trying to work out if a terror attack by a designated terror group should be formally recognised as a terror attack.
The Australian newspaper reported that the Government was still “considering” whether to designate the assaults an overseas terrorist attack under the legislation.
Hmmmm. It’s a tough one.
Would the decision be easier for the Albanese Government if the victims were anyone other than Jews?
‘We stand with the families of the hostages,’ Wong said, whilst equivocating on whether or not to make available payments to families of the hostages.
Has there ever been a government so out of its depth, so lacking in moral clarity, and so blind to unintended consequences as this mob?
And whatever you do, don’t say ‘Well, it could be worse’.
Just give it a week.
This Labor government is destroying Australia....deliberately!!!!
That's the only conclusion that can be reached. Right before our eyes in plain sight, they're destroying the economy, energy, education, health, defence, our food sources, workplace and employment infrastructure, environment, every area of government.
Thanks James. What an embarrassment AA & PW are to the average Aussie. I hope their bumbling in regard to Israel (among other things) gets them and the rest of their crew kicked to the curb ASAP.
I’m not sure anyone will be able fix the damage they’ve done but we may be able to show the world how much we disagree at the next election.
