Who didn’t see that coming ????? Or didn’t South Australia, last summer, turn them off so they couldn’t put electricity into the grid????

My first question is; Does our esteemed Energy Minister fully realise and approve what is going on here?

Definitely not!

He is the one promoting the Wind and Solar 'cheap and reliable renewables' for which we pay dearly. Now a State energy authority claims we are making too much energy from roof solar. So unless we put in a Totally Unreliable Lithium Battery, which may explode and burn down our houses, they want US to pay THEM for doing as Minister for Energy, Chris (Solar and wind for brains) Blowin, advocates will make Australia the Greenest Renewable Energy Suppliers in the world!!

I thought a tarp over the roof was used to prevent water leakage into a storm damaged roof! I was wrong. According to a well known Sky Commentator, the tarps will stop energy leakage to the Energy Market. (Only during working hours, that is when the sun is working to produce the power!)

The System cannot cope with it, they say! But we are spending more and more on trying to solve it!

The Governments of Australia offers incentives to the citizens to place more solar panels on rooftops to feed the Energy Market and thus reduce our bills.

Battery storage is costly and could pose a risk in the future.

Question 2. Will people living near the coast or in windy areas, be expected to put up wind turbines on their properties? Will we have to pay a wind tax, even if there isn't any wind when required?

The mind boggles at the Hot Air blowing out of the collective 'responsible' energy suppliers and incredibly incompetent politicians!

GOD Save Australia!

Totally agree Sarah and 68% of us didn't vote for them.

Love it a tarp from Bunnings cost $20 so just cover the panels before 4pm .. of course it requires a long ladder and being adept at walking on your roof and laying the tarp across your solar panels , strapping the tarp down in places particularly on a windy day. Then successfully getting back on the ladder and safely down to the ground. Then back up again 4pm. As for being charged for not using the water rains, isn’ that the case in Canada now ? I think you mentioned that in a past email. 😂

This is the straw that breaks the camel's back. It's time to man the barricades.

So taxpayers are being slammed by subsidising manufacture of (Aussie made) solar panels and being stung for using they energy they make. Who’d a thunk?

A friend of mine living out of town has only rainwater in a tank. The council's main water pipe runs along the road a short distance away. Her annual rates include a fee for water she doesn't get. I suggested to her to make a photo copy of some banknotes, go to the council, show them the picture of money and say:" You charge me for water you don't supply, I pay you with money you can't use.."

Isn’t that the limit! I hope your friend does as you suggested. Next thing the authorities will do is charge us for how much air we breathe. They really believe they’re God!

Well James, maybe Ausgrid are onto sumfin and have worked out how to harvest the suns energy before 10 a.m. and after 3 p.m. in the middle of winter. I wait for Ausgrid to share that brilliant scheme with all and sundry.

And as an aside, what is the $ payback estimate when you factor in paying the electric supply authority to use your free? energy and then knowingly buy it back from them?

Please explain.

More proof we are being governed by idiots

This clearly shows the difference between politically motivated electoral headline announcements by our government & the reality of world we live in.

LOL I look forward to watching that episode of Utopia! And your water charge idea is great - about time someone sorted that overflowing dam problem out.

Expand full comment

The water supply authority up here has ordered farmers to install water gauges in their dams at their own cost. Then they must pay a fee according to their use of water supplied free by rain. One farmer wrote in "Letters to the Editor" that he never uses water from a remote dam on his property, but as the sun evaporates the water, he still must pay what the sun evaporates. He wants to know how he can get a reimbursement from the sun.

Expand full comment

Maybe he could throw a tarp over the dam?

🤬This makes me really angry for the farmers infact surely there is a case legally refusing to install the water gauges and refuse point blank to pay ‘the water authority’ this is the same as the mafia demanding a shop pay them protection money it’s straight out theft. The farmers need to ban together and refuse the to comply

Expand full comment

As this happened some years ago, I can't remember the name of the particular water mafia. It was a governmental entity that "regulates" dams and irrigation. If they are charging the farmers for the rain on their plot, will they next charge them for the sunshine and the air their cattle breathe? In NZ the government has already imposed a tax, or wants to tax the farmers for the 'methane' their cows emit!!!

Expand full comment

Don't forget methane breaks down into carbon again. So as long as the number of cattle is constant then the amount of methane in the air is constant.

Most methane comes from breaking down vegetation.

This ignores the fact that no one has ever shown that carbon in the air contributes to climate change.

In todays topsy turvy world where bad is good, good is bad, abnormal behaviour is correct behaviour and civility is wrong and so on, this latest nonsense is perfectly normal

Yes it is.

A bit like the ancient Greek saying about the man the gods wish to destroy they 1st send mad.

Yes, most definitely and they are doing a great job

Unbelievable 🙄

If it’s just Ausgrid that’s just Sydney. As long as the other providers don’t do it we should survive.

The mad Victorian govt has made gas exploration and extraction so difficult or not allowed the whole state has gas shortages coming. The SA govt has so much renewable energy that they need power from other states if there is a cloudy still period.

Expand full comment

The price of gas is so high that Incitec/Pivot has just made a loss for the year. They use the gas to make nitrogen fertiliser for farmers to grow grain crops.

I guess the gas price is high because of shortages of supply. Thanks greens/labor/ woke banks that won't lend for exploration or extraction of the gas we need.

They’ll copycat if there’s a dollar in it for them and their shareholders.

Expand full comment

Are they totally mad? Talk about gaslighting the public! Get solar panels and the Government will subsidize the cost! Now they will charge for what your panels supply! I heard yesterday that if you have batteries, when the grid gets low, the power company can drain power from your battery and if your electric car is on charge they can take power from that battery as well

What a rort! We need to stockpile a supply of candles and lanterns with sufficient fuel for them. Lots of matches too.

What marvellous technology!

So after years of telling us to put solar panels on the roof, those who have, will now be sent a bill for making electricity.

If there is now too much power being made during sunny days why is the government still subsidising putting solar panels on houses AND to build more solar farms?

Why is good farm land being shut up for 99 years to offset the building of solar farms (on other good farmland) that only last for approx 25 year, before needing to be totally rebuilt or demolished?

When most of the evil coal and gas power stations are demolished and it is very cloudy, with no wind for a few weeks , where will the power come from? You can't build enough batteries to power the whole country for a few weeks. Will they then simply turn the power off to whole cities, great if it is very cold or very hot!

It's really corruption hidden behind red tape!

Expand full comment

It’s total idiocy!

I agree wholeheartedly but the writers of Utopia would have to clear copyright with the electric company first! As these things go and with them charging customers for making the wonderful green and environmentally friendly solar power in the first place, I bet they are highly likely to put a case for breach of copyright too :) hehehehe (all tongue in cheek of course)

What a surprise? NOT.

The whole world of green energy gets crazier and crazier and the consumer gets hit in the pocket wherever they do.

I so hope Jesus comes soon! I know many of us have said that before but really, this world is not worth being in. Fools are wrecking it right, left and centre. The lunatics are running the world and the normal people are locked in the asylum. The world has never seen anything like this before. Surely Jesus will come soon or does it get worse. Heaven forbid! I’ve had a gut full of satan and all those who worship it.
