Forget the dope. I have lived long enough to understand that when KGB infiltrated the journalist cadre, the purpose was to prevent any European country from building nuclear-powered power stations. Any residual plutonium could be used as a weapon against the USSR, should they toss the first nuclear projectile.
As a forward defense we need submarines. It is our defense we are discussing. If belligerent countries around us don't appreciate our defense posture, we can only suspect they plan an attack.
It is time we the silent majority start a 'gofund me' for all the left, green, woke types to get them all a one way plane ticket to CHINA and see how they go trying to shove their ideology down Xi Pings throat!! I reckon a one off 50cent payment should be enough to rid this country of this evil and stupid scourge! Then maybe we can all get on with our lives, prosper and thrive!

Great post, James. Perhaps the most beneficial thing for the greens to change is a policy change "keep off the grass man/other". We were the lucky country but have shown continually that we are a stupid country. How many people remember history before WW2 when Japan had an insatiable appetite for all of our resources, especially iron. It took a while but they kindly repaid this foolish gift ( thinking only of profit) from us by turning it into a huge war machine ushering in ever increasing allied attempts to stop them and nuclear /atom bomb outcomes. For several decades now China has had an insatiable appetite for all of our resources and guess what they are doing with it? Aside from this they have already attacking the housing / infrastructure market for decades and we, stupidly, are letting them buy it all, NO checks or balances. I am grieved to acknowledge that we have become the foolish country through longstanding bad/ criminal political decisions.
The Greens have the easier answer because they plan on joining Dan Andrews and just peacefully hand Australia over to the Chinese.
I can hardly believe it’s taken so long for the nuclear sub idea to enter the building. Tony Abbott should have started the process years ago.
Someone should tell the Turnbull’s that nuclear is the climate change religion’s answer and the ‘Greens’ would have been supporting it if they cared even a smidgin about the environment or the Australian people.
Hopefully the nuclear infrastructure needed for the subs will graduate into the minds of the intelligencia and we may see nuclear energy before I’m 100!

Interesting how the word nuclear strikes fear into the hearts of people. When I worked for the Science and Engineering competition the difference between primary and high school kids was interesting. One activity used many different power sources. Primary school kids had no issue using nuclear power but the high school kids wouldn’t. When asked why they don’t the first answer is always because of nuclear bombs. The best score is using nuclear as one power source btw.

Diesel subs require to surface to charge batteries and this makes them easy to sink with the latest technology which sees them surfacing....end of argument about the subs...unless we get the latest upgrade and go nuclear which will increase the time that we can stay underwater we will be picked off like flies as the subs surface....at that point the Greens can tell us how great their climate change ideas are.... as our enemy enters Australian waters we have zero capacity to fend them off....no nuclear subs means an easy shot and then no capacity to defend our coastline...hooray for the Greens following the climate change cult means we lose our defence capacity!....at least they have got their priorities right!..we loose Australia’s sovereignty while a country like China can walk right into Canberra and make us communist....mission accomplished Greens! You have gone way past the socialism you desire for Australia! Try to follow your climate change cult when we become communist... you will be driven to their camp to be re-educated!
