Just about every job advertised on seek has a sentence about welcoming all the diverse people.
Victorian education seems to welcome it.
We had a non-binary they/them rainbow clad badge wearing (woman) at my previous school. Within a month of her starting, an email was sent to all staff advising 'they' was aware of transphobic comments and that we'd all better be careful how we spoke because some kids 'know' they're the wrong gender at 8 and we could potentially cause serious mental damage.
She also spoke to numerous teachers about the harm caused by addressing the class as 'boys and girls'.
I often think that the pronoun seekers are compensating for some deep-seated problem. Or that they could be sufficiently neurotic to justify their job applications being overlooked. Anyway, I wouldn't employ them nor actively contribute to enriching their trajectory. Why take on risk? We need some guarantees in life!
Thanks, James, you will save a lot of time. I have been an employer in the past and the bottom line is you want the job done efficiently, with the least amount of disruption. I cringe at all the factors that stop business employing people these days because of the bureaucracy the woke mindsets etc. Woke mindsets are toxic and it seems they have no concept that the employer is actually paying for them to do some work without prioritising their personal lifestyle brand or image. A workplace where any comment can be misinterpreted and seen as harmful breaks down the workplace. There is no way I would employ anyone ever again because of all the red tape, bureaucratic over reach and stifling government interference. Add to this whatever is politically correct and subtract it from your narrow margins. Last night's Utopia showed this well🤪
There’s an old adage to which we need to adhere....KISS....”keep it simple stupid”.
This lot seem to want to make life so difficult messy and convoluted that everyone throws their arms in the air and walks away, then they slide on in and get their way.
“She’ll be right mate” is not going to work anymore I’m afraid it’s crunch time so be vigilant.
A real gem, James, and articulately and humorously written as always. So much common sense! I wonder about the fall out for employers if these deluded people were (and SHOULD be) passed over. Cries of ‘Discrimination!’, ‘Prejudice’ would be deafening. The ‘I absolutely hate/despise/ loathe myself’ people are so childishly manipulative. It’s pathetic. The only way to beat them is to en masse stand up against their garbage. They are the minority after all!!
You don't want trouble, people who are victims and whinging over everything that is none of their concern. You want people who turn up on time, listen to customers, go beyond the requirements of the job if they have to and are always trying to get better in their job.
Good to hear of sensible employers. I would add green, pink or bright red/ orange hair to the list. That and sundry tattoos- cannot take them seriously. But then I am getting older all the time.
Absolutely brilliant!

Hey, they'll always find a job at Lush.
Working in govt it’s rampant, really sickening tbh.

Utopia is a great show!
Absolutely brilliant, as usual, James 😂 As far as wordsmiths go, you are the goat 🐐
Exactly right mate, spot on analysis as always James, thanks mate 👍
Personally I think I would go with face tattoos over pronouns.
It’s so good to hear this!

That is exactly how I would treat them.

"Honestly, I don’t mind people putting pronouns on their resume. In fact, I encourage it. It saves employers a lot of time!" Yep!
