Are the QLD Labor Govt totally thick, or do they have a short-term memory loss? Or perhaps, more to the point, they just have no respect for democracy.
70% of us in QLD said NO to this rubbish. And so they are threatening to bring it in anyway? Okay. Easy solution - We will just vote the whole Govt AND it's destructive schemes out of office in October of this year!! They deserve to be thrown out of office anyway.
Crisafulli promised that if his government got into office, they would not bring in this treaty garbage, so I certainly hope he sticks to that promise. By the way, after Crisafulli made that promise, Palaszczuk, after threatening Queenslanders with this a few months ago, suddenly decided not to bring it in after all (Because of course, she just realised that she would not get voted back in again if she did).
But that idiot Miles, who is miles away from being in touch with Queenslanders, decides to bring it in anyway? Obviously someone else is pulling his strings I would say. Throw the lot of them out of office asap!
I would certainly support that! Quite seriously, there certainly needs to be some manner of authentication. With regards to the specific debate apropos Queensland and Treaties, I greatly fear trouble. Queensland has no opposition party. In some respects I can understand Queenslanders voting ALP because the LNP is a rabble that offers nothing. I am not going to repeat myself on the subject save to say the LNP cannot be taken seriously as a political party. Nothing it has said or done in recent months has changed my mind. It suffers from several deep structural faults and an overarching cultural malaise. Until it shows some sound resolve to repair itself, it is destined to languish and, should it ever achieve power, it will do so by default, not on its own merits.
Prince Miles has already shown he is not a shade on the Queen P! They both relied on the Worker Bees behind the scene to get their promotions. So was the Queen P pushed or shoved out of the bee-hive? It is obvious to all that for the hive to continue, a worker Bee must be morphed into leading the colony. You get what they have to give, only this honey Bee is off! No charisma, and possibly no sting in the tail. However, honey, being what it is, sticks and no amount of wishing on our behalf for a change, honey is still honey.
Kick Qld Labor out of government in the elections later this year, encourage the LNP to speak up and take a firm line for the 70% who voted no in the referendum. God have mercy on our State and nation.
My only hope is that God opens the ears and eyes of all Queenslanders understanding to see how wrong this govt is and vote them and the greens out completely
The Qld voices were clear with the referendum, the Qld Government need to remove the mute button. We will count on the next state election to remove the mute. No treaties please!
What’s the point of running a federal referendum , asking Australians to vote on it nationally & then state politicians essentially disregarding the national result & pursuing their own agenda?
A DNA test before anyone is classed as an Aboriginal is basic common sense and totally fair. Less than 50% equals not Aboriginal. This principle already applies to the American Indians. If an Indian marries out, their children are automatically excluded from any financial benefits the tribe gets from the govt or from the tribes income eg from the casinos, oil or minerals.
People who are 1/4, 1/ 16th, 1/ 32nd or 1/64th have an Aboriginal ancestor but are not Aboriginal.
This idea will not get up because too many are benefiting fraudulently.
Andrew, I can see where you are coming from with this. But there are flaws with this thinking. It is not common sense or totally fair to undergo this kind of DNA testing.
Firstly, if they didn't treat people differently according to race, in the first place, there would be no need for DNA testing.
The fact that people are even thinking about the idea of having DNA testing to determine race, due to the societal advantages or disadvantages brought about by being one race or another, clearly demonstrates that this whole issue is underpinned by pure racism. And that is utterly disgusting.
I can see how DNA testing may be a good way to expose all the liars. But does that mean that just because one Australian is proven to be Aboriginal through DNA, it is therefore okay to treat them differently from another Australian who does not have Aboriginal in their DNA, simply due to this difference in DNA? This is still pure racism.
My cousin has prepared our family tree back before the First Fleet and there are no aboriginals in there at all (I can assure any one who may be interested that if there was I as sure as hell WOULDNT tell ANYONE----- FFS)
The whole Aboriginal industry is racist in a destructive way. No one should be getting benefits based on race. The bible says anyone who refuses to work,( ie contribute constructively to the society) shall not eat. Our whole nation supports millions of lazy parasites who use others and sponge on them and demand they get more. They contribute nothing towards anyone elses good, weath or happiness.
If we are going to keep on being manipulated by the Aboriginal industry then my idea of DNA testing is 1 way to fight back and cancel out a great many of the so called Aboriginals. My guess, and it is only a guess, is that about 90% of so called Aboriginals are less than 50% black.
Worse than the racism is the victim mentality that so many now believe in. If people refuse to help themselves and care for their own families then nothing will ever help them. No amount of money, treaty or benefits will help anyone if people refuse to be responsible for themselves. Blaming all my problems on you just causes hate, violence, poverty and despair. A persons color is irrelevant, it is a persons character that is most important. Living by God's eternal values is the only way to truly have a successful life.
Andrew, you have touched on some very important points that are separate points in themselves, but also very closely related to one another as well. I generally agree with you on these things.
After thinking further about the topic of DNA and racism (as we discussed earlier today), I would say that though these things effect each other, they are two separate topics. The way I see it is this. There are two different topics here:
The first is the fight for truth:
If someone claims to be of a certain race in order to be eligible for some sort of legal/Government benefit, then a DNA test should be mandatory. The same should go for those who claim (for the sake of special benefits) to have 'transitioned' from male to female or vice versa. A simple DNA test will, of course, show that a person is the same sex they were when they were born, regardless of what mutilation they may have done to their body since then. This is a fight for truth and it is the fight that you and a couple others mentioned in your comments. This is an extremely important fight, because it is a fight against lies and deception.
The second is the fight for justice:
This is the fight against racism. This is also an extremely important fight and it is the one that I talked about in my comments. Every Australian should be given equal rights, opportunities and responsibilities, regardless of what race each one is proven to be of.
If all Australians were treated equally, regardless of race, there would be no incentive to lie about what race a person is, because it would make no difference to the outcome. I truly believe that if we tackle the root cause (treating people differently according to race) of this apparent need for DNA testing, there would be no need for DNA testing, because the temptation to lie and deceive would not exist. In my opinion, to advocate for DNA testing is good in one respect. But it is also dangerous, because it appears that those advocating for it, are saying that it is okay to treat one person differently from another person, according to race, so long as they prove through DNA, that they are the race they claim to be.
Please QLD. Come on, we can vote these idiots out! At least........
I think we can! I think we can!
I know we can! I know we can!
Thanks James, I’ll be back to the land of the QLD crazies soon and will have to catch up on all the important stuff I’ve been ignoring. Or maybe I’ll just keep ignoring it, now that I’m in the habit and just catch up on your articles that I’ve missed.
What else could we possibly expect from Stephen Miles, who, advised the people of Qld on his first day, he was waiting for Caucus to select his new government ministers.......he doubled down again when introducing the new ministers, that they had been hand picked by Caucus.
We are a State that is being run by faceless men...all in the shadows....not the puppets they put on show in the papers and Parliament.
The Labor Party, State and Federal had a lot to say about Scomo overseeing portfolios....that is a little blip compared to "faceless" men completely running the State....and mind you this is how the Labor Party is run nationwide. So remember when voting Labor what you see at the polling booth is definitely NOT what you get!!
Wave your flags on 26 January...The Australian Flag...One flag, One Nation....NO treaties!!!
It makes as much sense to arrange treaties between white and indigenous Australians, as it does between neighbouring aboriginal tribes. The Kaurna tribes around Adelaide might have a few words to say to the Narrindjeri who muscled in on Adelaide in the 1840's. The Peramangk in the Adelaide hills are still complaining about the Kaurna cashing in on the welcome ceremony business. And on it goes.
There is no historically based solution to the treaty business. It is too scrambled and uncertain.
The only way forward is to address today's problems, for the black and the white who need a hand.
The rest is pure power politics at its greedy worst.
Well, then let the smoking leaves & clapstick people make all the treaties they want among themselves. Nothing to do with the people who built this country to everyone's benefit.
Actually testing for genuine aborigines would be very useful but somewhat draconian. I don’t see any other way of doing it though. This treaty nonsense just shows how governments don’t really care about the people.
We said no resoundingly and still the activists like Mayo and his ilk in concert with the morons we gave in charge want to inflict this division and conflict on us. Spoilt tantrum throwing children in a supermarket come to mind.
Unbelievable!! goes to show that Labor has an agenda and won't let mere voters get in the way. Trumpet blowers. And what a waste of our money, when it could be better spent on sooooo many other things.
I definitely agree that genealogy must play a central role in determining who is truly "indigenous ". DNA testing would be ideal (but probably too invasive and expensive) - anyone who objects probably has something to hide. We also need to remove any lucrative motive for claiming "indigenality" (is that a word even?)
Yes. But if they didn't treat people differently according to race, in the first place, there would be no need for DNA testing.
The fact that people are even thinking about the idea of having DNA testing to determine race, due to the societal advantages or disadvantages brought about by being one race or another, clearly demonstrates that this whole issue is underpinned by pure racism. And that is utter disgusting.
They wouldn’t test to determine race, they would test to determine whether they are eligible for government benefit handouts. If there was NO RACE BASIS for government benefits , we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.
I can see how that may be a good way to expose all the liars. But does that mean that just because one Australian is proven to be Aboriginal through DNA, it is therefore okay to treat them differently from another Australian who does not have Aboriginal in their DNA, simply due to this difference in DNA? This is still pure racism.
I was not involved in conscription issue in the 60s but I did read the registration papers to be filled in by the age group involved ---It specifically exempted Non citizens and ABORIGINAL AUSTRALIANS The non citizen bit was covered later by excluding Non citizens of 5 years residence or less ie got all the kids who came here as babies and not naturalised .But Aboriginal Australians were still exempt.
Like Albo and his incompetent govt., this latest push by Steven Miles & govt., is sending a very strong message that they are planning on losing the next election. Great campaign strategy, I say.
Queenslanders sent a very clear message to the Federal Labor Government via the very expensive referendum and yet the Queensland Labor Government apparently thinks that’s irrelevant.
With a State election looming, they have just committed and assured themselves political suicide.
Not as though they needed anything extra to prove they are unfit to govern because the State is in a mess.
Good. This will all but guarantee Labor getting booted this October. How can they be so stupid??
I hope the LNP are organised enough to capitalise on this idiocy.
Are the QLD Labor Govt totally thick, or do they have a short-term memory loss? Or perhaps, more to the point, they just have no respect for democracy.

You won’t vote them out. They’ll promise to pay people with your tax dollars, and those people will vote them in. It’s self-perpetuating.
The poor little bastard always looks like he is about to burst into tears if he doesnt get his own way .
What I love is a term used by Ben Shapiro - they “fail upwards”!!
Kick Qld Labor out of government in the elections later this year, encourage the LNP to speak up and take a firm line for the 70% who voted no in the referendum. God have mercy on our State and nation.
Trouble is, there are lots of Labour Party dupes who will vote for Labour, no matter what!
Trusting for many more less!
My only hope is that God opens the ears and eyes of all Queenslanders understanding to see how wrong this govt is and vote them and the greens out completely

I agree. Was referring to “indigenality”
🤣👍
Like Albo and his incompetent govt., this latest push by Steven Miles & govt., is sending a very strong message that they are planning on losing the next election. Great campaign strategy, I say.
Hope so Pamela
Any attempt to force the imposition of a treaty in the face of wide-spread opposition, is political suicide.
I hope so!
Totally. Their campaign strategy is certainly up there with that of the Yes campaign, that's for sure! Idiots.
so hope you're right about them losing!
So much for democracy.
