The fact that they say power prices here in Australia is because of the war in Ukraine is ridiculous. The fact that some people believe it is even more ridiculous.

By the time my panels pay of the cost of installation I’ll be up for a new set. Ive seen them stacked up at the metal recyclers all ready.

Totally agree. This government can’t face up to reality. The rabid greens and teals on whom they depend just don’t understand that the current renewable energy target isn’t feasible. The grid is under supplied with energy. Meanwhile international gas sales proceed whilst our nation freezes this winter. Any decent government would quickly deal with that. Climate change? Where I live there’s evidence of previously much higher sea levels compared with those of today. Maybe we are in a naturally warming part of the cycle. Simple observations beat rubbish talk every time!

Keep at it James.

The socialists are appalling and brutally ignorant of the true price of “renewable transition”.

However, let’s not forget that the Liberals, with two or three high profile exceptions, are complicit in this. They must shift and present a new way, or we’ll never get out of this mess.

Great article James. What will the greedy power companies do when people who can no longer afford power and have is disconnected, will they care about the loss of customers? Will a lot of people be forced to live off the grid in the years to come because power prices affect pretty much everything else we consume - food, clothes, etc and the consumer has to decide what is most important. The power companies will then experience the pain of loss of profits. Is it not better to keep a customer who will pay you something than lose the customer. Also why have they made is so hard for us the consumer to try to figure out what is the best deal? It is so complex that many people don't even try and are stuck on expensive plans. Governments for the past two decades have not invested in this space and have privatised to the point hat there is very little that they can do now. Other than admit they were wrong to commit to the global climate change agenda and go back to coal and gas until they can solve all the issues relating to solar and wind power. The countries that add the most to the climate change problem are not even doing anything to reduce their share of the emissions so all the countries trying to fix the 'problem' will not succeed and their people will suffer for nothing.

true, I did research and did not get a Tesla.

They now make them with Lithium Iron Phosphate that does not explode as easily and they last longer, but they do cost more.

Thanks James. Solar panels are a giant crock. They’re ok if you live where there’s no electricity but without a giant battery, you still can’t run a household with them.

People don’t realise their electricity bills will also go up accordingly.

Didn’t the SA Govt turn theirs off from the grid last summer?

Classic spin to avoid answering the question and admitting we got it wrong.

Their honest answer is, "No we can't save people $275 off their electricity bill from before the election and it is because of our renewables investments, but we don't intend to fix that as we are in the process of destroying Australia and voters can't stop us now as we have Konnech to fix all the elections in our future."

The answer we all wanted to hear was, "We lied, we apologize and we will support coal, gas and nuclear to reduce power prices and give a reliable supply to support industries and jobs into the future."
