Criminal profilers tell us that Pyromaniacs usually also like young children (pedophiles) and people that hurt animals usually upgrade to killing people.
I don't know if there is a strong connection between Sodomy and serial killers, but it seems it gave him his opportunity and that is a key factor in listing suspects. Perhaps they should look into the connection and perhaps the Sodomites are embarrassed at the facts being discovered. The bible teaches us that one sin leads to many more and more devious as time goes on. Everyone knows the connection between Sodomy, drugs and depression (due to their conscience telling them they are sinning against themselves and God). They (dogs) will not enter heaven along with sorcerers, immoral, murderers, idolaters and liars (Revelation 22: 15).
I used to work in the Police department in the early 70's and many police did not think it was worth investigating the deaths of Sodomites as it was a criminal activity in those days. I am sure they knew the killer was also a Sodomite as they mixed in a very small secret community then. They may have even liked the fact that someone was getting rid of criminals for them and that they didn't have to get involved in the depravity of their community as police work can get pretty dirty at times and has an effect on your mind. They already bumped into them with their drug trafficking investigations.
With minor offenders they would just give them a kicking and let them go and the offenders preferred that rather than fines and jail. Life was so much easier in those days. People respected police and judges also put criminals away to keep us safe.

When we rebel against Jesus' love, His representation of the Father and their plan for us all in the beginning, the further we fall into division and become increasingly lost. I hope that when they see the futility of their life choices, they will be open to our only hope, Jesus.

We know we live in a depraved world, now the world seemingly celebrates the depraved by spending millions of dollars making a series like that one..
