Haha! An excellent piece James! Your wit is priceless & it truly is what is happening! Important questions being evaded because "so & so celebrity" is endorsing the thing!! None of them move me to change my mind! Sorry Albo, try as you might....

I agree with you. The indigenous people will be hurt by this and the Govt, ie. us, will pay dearly in our taxes. and, nobody ‘wins’!

It is interesting seeing all the ‘celebrities’ big-noting themselves. What are they being paid?

I know indigenous people who are firmly against this, and the people in country Australia whose land is at risk.

I agree with Christine this is highly divisive.

Keep up the good work James to bring out the truth!

Thanks, James for the detailed account of celebrity washing. It is interesting that Albanese continues to throw other distractions in to stop people looking at the lack of detail he has supplied for this referendum.

All those 'celebrities' and one relatively unknown Jacinta is the only one making sense

Albanese has treated, and continues to treat both non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal Australians with utter contempt. The insult to the intelligence and the outright racism against non-Aboriginal Australians, that acts as the hallmark of this referendum, is shamelessly exposed for all to see. What's more, the message this referendum delivers, that Aboriginal people are hopeless victims, inherently incapable of independence or taking responsibility for themselves, is nothing but a racist, gross insult toward Aboriginal Australians.

Albanese, with his ardent commitment to the communist agenda and the subsequent destruction of our God-given democratic freedoms, is a communist and a traitor to this country!

It is not just "celebrities" whom the Voice mob trundles out. Certain politically inflamed Uncles and Aunties of the Aboriginal stratum appear to have a peculiar obsession to endow their indigenous tribes and clans with a quasi-regal aura of antiquity by informing us - to date - about a 65000 years occupancy of this continent. I can remember when "experts" proclaimed a 20000 year history, then 30000, then 40000, then 50000, then 60000 and now an awesome 65000 year history. Judging by such a spiralling rate of grotesque fancy we may eventually be lectured, by the Learned Ones of anthropology and geography, that the Aboriginals are really predating the dinosaurs, engaged in wholesome agriculture and lived in glorious cities which, unfortunately, were destroyed by massive earthquakes leaving no trace and thereby plunging the survivors into scattered groups , called "nations" now, of hunters and gatherers living off the land.

Hi James, good piece. Incredible effrontery on Dutton’s part, writing to Australian citizens to request financial backing for the “no” case. Whilst not endorsing the Voice, I think that this example of useless politicisation of the issue speaks volumes about the stupidity of our leaders and for that matter the nous of many voters. BTW, the Voice won’t fix the problem of a non indigenous person trying to safely get around the streets of Alice Springs, Walgett or Port Augusta after 8.30 at night. Only effective Aboriginal leadership at the community level will do that. Not another governmental construct!

Our Constitution was developed by Good Christian Men and has served Us well. We do not have good Christian men in our Government anymore so I say No to any changes to Our Australian Constitution.

What incensed me this morning was the knowledge that my bank, ANZ, has just given TWO MILLION DOLLARS to the YES campaign! I'm livid. I've just written to them demanding that they give an equal amount to the NO campaign or I'll be looking for another bank that doesn't get involved in politics.

I guess they will laugh at me - unless more customers do the same thing. Help!

Good on you for standing up them!! But you know, the funny thing is, that no matter how much money is poured into the Yes campaign, the polls continue to indicate that this referendum is headed to fail. No matter how much money one has, there is nothing more potent than the truth. And that is something the Yes campaign don't have - the truth!

Expand full comment

I suspect the reason is the ANZ and other banks want to be seen as compliant with the Voice lobby. If seen "not with it" in case of a "yes" vote in the referendum, they fear to lose accounts.

They should be looking at the polls and realising that most people don't want this! They stand to lose more accounts if people get really riled up. 😞

Do I love Aborigines - Heck YES !

Does Australia need to be divided on race - Heck NO !

Black Privilege has to STOP -

Airbus Albo and his mob are pushing the idea that aborigines are disadvantaged. Aborigines aren't oppressed, they've got BLACK PRIVILEGE! They get $30b every year, free healthcare, free education, free legal aid, reduced taxes, free medications, aboriginal-only job positions, aboriginal-only business grants, taxpayer-funded apprenticeships, free taxis, cheaper home loans with lower deposits required, priority on government housing lists, free fishing licenses, free forklift licences, mining royalties, ABstudy paid to go to Uni with no income test, automatic entry into university with no minimum entry requirements, free sports memberships, free sports uniforms, plus so much more!

Vote NO to stop this gravy train

Heres a fun fact on the apprenticeships and traineeships - having worked in that sector for over 5 years I've seen this first hand - they almost all drop out, they often don't attend classes, and hardly any see it through to completion, they just aren't interested, there's no cost to them so its no skin off their nose, there's no incentive to achieve, why work if everything is free?

My dad (a great hard working immigrant) even employed an indigenous apprentice once and the guy just vanished at times for weeks at a time with no notice on "walk about", so dad was left short staffed, there was nothing he could do to discipline the "worker" because of his race, and so dad's business and customers suffered for it.

We keep giving them free stuff and some will keep rejecting it, our assistance isn't appreciated by all - you can lead a horse to water ....

You know, in an interview a few months ago, Albanese was asked why we need a Voice to Parliament when there is already over 30 billion tax-payer dollars going towards projects to help the Aboriginal people. His response was simply - "Well it's not working." My response to Albanese is, if it's not working, then why should we continue funding these projects???!!! Forget the 'voice'. What is needed is accountability for what already exists!

I am sure it is these many BLACK PRIVILEGES why so many pure whitefellas pretend to be fair dinkum blackfellas. They want a chunk of Aladin's cave as well.

If the voice vote is yes, then the number of Aboriginals will explode in the next 2 years as many more register as blacks judging by a discussion at work last week. Some in fact do have a distant black ancestor but never registered yet. Others don't have any black ancestors but have now lived here for 230 or 150 years and don't belong anywhere else in the world so will register as Indigenous. Others will want the many extra financial benefits on offer.

Most of the new 1,500,000 immigrants coming now are blacker than most so called 1st nations people are.

All these whitefellas are "in it" for what they can "get out of it".

They do need to help grassroots people. Trouble is, money stops at the top. Maybe we should suggest satellite phones for responsible indigenous AND non-indigenous around remote Australia.

Not only exclusive, but inclusive!!! Very good interview James, we see so much and learn so much. After such a profound lineup of "important" people, we can see how it is going. I have a feeling, not only are the aboiriginal people being played, but we all are. It's a big NO from me
