I was shocked to see the Jewish producers/ directors of the movie at the Oscar’s repudiating their Jewishness and supporting Hamas. They obviously learned nothing from their own mistake movie. I don’t think I will bother watching the movie..
It’s certainly a time for such films. I just finished reading ‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’. It’s extremely confronting and coming out in film very soon. I’ve read a number of great books from Aussie writers about the war. Always learning about the horrors from a different point of view and with the difficulty of attempting to understand the blindness and cowardice of the masses. The ‘never again’ is definitely happening again.
That movie is very similar to one years ago called "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas"....same setting!!
I went through Dachau in the sixties, before they stopped allowing access to everything (and I mean every part including the ovens)....I could hardly walk when I left that place...I've never ever had that feeling of absolute dread and horror until again this past few months....the young generation today are not interested, they live in their fantasy world because it makes them happy...God help us all!!
Oh my goodness, Peg, you were very attune to the dreadful evil of that place. As I was reading your post, it beggars belief that human beings would do that to other human beings. The Nazis who ran the place and worked there were just monsters. Then I thought of October last year in Israel. The same evil spirit, the same monsters…. No wonder the Jewish people have great fear about what’s happening in the world!
You know June I'll never ever, ever forget that place ....I was only young and had never really thought to much about the war, but I wish I could get every one on this planet to feel, see and experience that day....I guarantee it would change a lot of minds on pro Palestinian support!!
I can imagine how you feel as ,when I was flying in PNG in the late 80s I was sent to pick up some passengers at Tol Plantion ,near Rabaul . I had to wait over an hour so I had a bit of a walk around ,and during that walk I had the most awful sense of forboding , such that I got back to my aeroplane and checked every thing again Then the penny dropped Tol was the scene of a massacre by the japs of about 100 Aussie pows . History told me that these young Aussies had the temerity to escape from the barbarians ,and were caught , hands bound and chopped up with swords by the knights of bushido. And the armchair apologists for these people wonder why ,most infantry soldiers ,in later combat wouldnt take prisoners.
I lived in Lae PNG 67-74 ... I was with Ansett ...I know Tol Plantation, Bob. I lot of terrible things happened in PNG during the war. My father, a Rat of Tobruk, went to Buna and Milne Bay on his return from the Middle East. Our soldiers had a very cruel awakening when dealing with the Japanese up there. Very reminiscent of todays world and the terrorists.
If you've ever read Bryce Courtneys, Persimmon Tree, there are few pages at the beginning where a similar situation happens in that area.....or close to..as the Japs came down through Indonesia.
I first went to TP&NG In 1973, first to POM then to DAU where in 1974 My fiance travelled up there and we were married by the DC Ken Brown on 16/03/74 To Lae with Macair in1974 for about 6 months and then to Mendi in the SHD . What a lovely town was Mendi where we saw the wheels fall off with independence and being retrenched from Terrible Air Lines by Buchanan in 1976. Went to WA but had two more stints there later when I went to Rabaul to relieve Loopy fr a couple of months for his leave. Looking back The bloody labor gov under any leadership are just a mob of bloody useless tools . My heart bleeds for PNG for the failed state that anyone with half a brain could have seen it would become.
Absolutely Bob.....given Independence far too early...they just weren't ready.....I think Dr's were fast tracked through their medical degrees etc within three years...that's just one occupation!! i was there and involved in the formation of Air Niugini...what a disaster!
You know it was such a beautiful country...Lae was a beautiful little town...the drive up to Kainantu was amazing. If my memory serves me you landed uphill on Mendi strip.....or am I confusing it with somewhere else?
Yes, there’s nothing like being confronted with reality to bring home the truth. It would do everyone good to see how evil man can really be and maybe, just maybe, some of them might be bright enough to shake off the delusion and lies they’ve so readily swallowed. Those who support Palestine need to understand that they stand with people like the Nazis. Their so called ‘compassion’ is deluded. They never think to care about the huge suffering in Israel or that terrible night in October last year or the fact that the terrorists still haven’t released all those hostages or the fact that the terrorists started all this in the first place threatening to exterminate all the Jews off the face of the earth. Oh no, it’s all about poor Gaza.
So many willingly drawn into evil and that’s why evil succeeds. Thankfully God has the first, the middle and the last say. Evil and all those who worship it are under His judgment.
Most Germans at the time closed their eyes and ears to the ghastly, evil that was happening in plain sight.
Covid showed us that we trust authorities until we don’t. Mostly we obeyed the ‘rules’ until we realised how many lies and nonsense we were being told.
We continued to go out of area to mind our grandchildren and went to the local parks to get the kids out their apartment. No one questioned us.
I guess the people had no choice unless they wanted to end up in jail themselves like the people here who questioned the Covid narrative.
My son told me of a student of history at his uni that he was a jap and in his 80s. his reason for being there was that as a very junior naval rating at the very end of the war he had seen the japs get their arse very well kicked and later couldn't believe the lies that were being fed to the ordinary people (in essence we was robbed )These animals were every bit as bad if not worse than the nazis but Germany is tainted by those times and never will it be otherwise, and yet our leadership fall over themselves to kiss their arse at every opportunity
Changi and the Burma railway were monstrous places run by cruel and sadistic people just like the camps in Europe. The story of the Railway Man is chilling.
I had the good fortune to know an old digger who was a guest of those savages for 1277 days good luck saw him miss out on the Burma railway but was in Japan ,working in the coal mines that were too dangerous for jap workers on the night shift, He was awakened by a group of excited digger who dragged him out of bed and outside to see the most beautiful sight that he had seen in Japan . A magnificent mushroom cloud boiling up into the sky . It was the Nagasaki bomb. His comments ? Jees boys ,something good has happened. His camp was 11 miles from ground zero and he did'nt hear it
It’s a terrifying choice to have to make. I watched ‘Living in Babylon’ in Adelaide and Brisbane with Ken Ham and Martyn Iles. Perth is on tonight. I’ll post the link for the first two separately. Martyn spoke about the ‘Babylon Choice’ when suddenly the godless culture points to you to bow to an idol. He used the examples of Daniel,Shadrech, Meshech and Abednego who all refused to abandon their God and would therefore suffer terrible consequences…except in this case God delivered them. But we can’t forget that they expected to die.
Martyn emphasised that God saved Daniel IN the lion’s den and the other three IN the fire that had already killed three men stroking it to get it three times hotter. He said we have to trust God to do the same even if it cost us our lives which is a terrifying thought! The Babylonian culture was godless and evil just like ours is today and Germany’s was 90 years ago.
These passages from Daniel really inspired me to always do the faithful and courageous thing in the face of evil. In saying that, I hope I’m never tested to that extent! But if I am, I pray and trust that God will give me all the faith and trust I need to obey the Truth no matter how terrified I might be. History tell us that this is what we need be for God brings great blessings through the witness of His beloved children. If or when the challenge comes, I pray we will all be more than equipped to defend our God and our faith. God delivers us IN the fire. 🔥✝️
The Answers in Genesis events with Ken and Martyn are wonderful evenings, full of truth and love. If you watch the event in Melbourne on Saturday, that'll be me playing the piano at the intermission, as I did in the other cities!
I love the Shadrach,Meshach and Abednego story- even if God doesn’t save us we still not now down. It is great to see Martyn on the road again. I will wait for Sydney.
Sorry but all I can find is the link for the session in Perth tonight. If you Google ‘Living in Babylon’ Australia Tour, better IT minds than I have should be able to track down the first two. I had saved them on Messenger but they’re not there now which is a real mystery.
Many of them (my grandparents included) were so indoctrinated from a young age (Hitler youth) they didn't think twice, they realised later that they were so wrong, and had so many regrets.
And you are right they had no choice they would have indeed have been in jail or worse, and I guess the sad thing is fear will make good people do bad things, just like covid and just like our youth have been so indoctrinated into believing gender reassignment and renewables are normal and good things.
Unfortunately our kids today are no longer taught to think or debate , they don't even have debate teams or public speaking in schools anymore - That is extremely sad!
Tragically many of our innocent indoctrinated kids today are treading the same path as the youth in Hitler’s time. Easy fodder for a megalomaniac to manipulate. Let’s pray our young will be rescued from these delusions.
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is superb. It explains how people go along with evil as does the Photographer of Auschwitz- really harrowing. We visited Terezin in the Czech republic and saw the commandants house, movie theatre and pool next door to where the poor souls were gathered for transportation.
What’s powerful movie! It exactly illustrates why ordinary Germans at that time can’t plead ignorance of the dreadful mass murder of the Jews. I don’t know if the word ‘holocaust’ is now in the German language/dictionary but it never used to be. ‘Banality of evil’ is probably the most terrifying aspect of anything evil. To live as if nothing terrible is happening just a few feet away beggars description.
It’s really obvious why Jews today are so concerned and frightened that history could very easily repeat itself.
People choose what they want to remember about history and if they choose wrongly, then they are complicit in the desire to commit mass murder. The terrorists in Gaza, and who knows just what percentage of the Palestinian population, are determined to eliminate the Jews from the face of the earth. This is a policy of deliberate mass murder and the godless West are supporting it. Shame on them!!
The Jews have been hated throughout history and they have committed no more wrongs than any other race. The hatred is demonic and it is alive and well today. We Christians are a close second on the world’s hit list. The demonic hates God in us. As has always been all through history, He is the target.
Germans today acknowledge the past evil. Holocaust education and visits to camps and Nazi places are mandatory for German teenagers. When we were at the place Hitler gave all his speeches there was a group of teenagers on a school excursion.
I remember my grandfather never told us anything about his part in the war until he was about to die, he was always so quiet, we thought he was just a grumpy old man, but he was just a shell shocked man that as a boy had joined the army to do what he had been brainwashed to believe was right for his country. he lived the rest of his life in fear and kept his silence as he believed they would still come for him and his family right up till he died, he wasn't even some body high up like his older brothers were, he was a tank driver. It's so so sad that somebody like Hitler could hold so much power and convince so many people to fight for his cause and cause so much harm to not just the Jews but to all the people affected globally. It's a time in history we must never, never ever forget!
So sad. My uncle was German and in the Hitler youth. In his last years he developed dementia and my aunt lost hm one day. They found him goose stepping up a main road. I guess some memories never leave us.
Thank you. You have articulated an excellent response. It is the first time that I walk around in the streets wondering if people know I’m Jewish and does it really matter ?
Thank you Bella. Yes it’s just atrocious what’s happening. But people don’t realise that the very essence of these fundamentalists is to bring down the west all our beliefs - Jewish, Christian ….
That’s awful! You shouldn’t be made to feel like that in this country. It used to be a good safe country where you freely went about your life. With the sick woke socialist cancer fueled by hatred that was already latent in far too many people, Australia is now fast losing its soul, if it hasn’t already. The covid era of fear and panic brought out the worst in far too many people, especially intolerance and hatred and unleashed division and violence toward anyone who doesn’t believe as they believe. These evils were always there but they’ve been given free reign now that these people have thrown God out.
I’m never afraid to say that I am for the Jewish people and Israel and if anyone doesn’t like it that’s their problem. It’s a mere 80 years since the Holocaust and anti semitism is brazenly working its evil again.
But don’t despair. Be proud of your heritage. Hold your head up high when you walk around in the streets. God knows exactly what’s happening and He not only protects His people but he also judges their enemies. They should be very fearful of that.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your sentiment x. Yep covid brought out such horrid nastiness and division and it has just seemed to snowball from there
They must have rationalised it away by saying the victims were not human? Or maybe to speak out would be too costly to me…. Mind blowing really. Makes me ask what I would have done….
If every German, and there would have been a great number, who knew it was wrong and evil had spoken out, then things could have been different. Fear and self preservation are powerful motivators but they are no excuse for not doing the right and moral thing.

Thank you, David. I appreciate your comment and I'm truly touched. In April 2012 I donated an 18-volume research series to the SMS's library entitled "The Holocaust Series". The museum put a dedication/recognition to/of my mother on the inside cover of each volume.
What wonderful women! I know there were people who at great risk to themselves and their loved ones did extraordinary courageous things to help the Jews. God bless them!
During a guided tour of Auschwitz in 2004, I wrote down the names of three orphans whose old suitcases were on display at the Auschwitz museum. These children had been deported to Auschwitz in 1944 from the concentration camp in Terezin. In representation of the 1.5 million child victims of the genocide, there is now a memorial plaque in the Sanctum of Remembrance at the Sydney Jewish Museum with their names: Gertrud Neubauer, 9, Hana Fuchs, 8, and Peter Eisler,2.

Where is that movie? I want to see it. I actually have not long ago read a story almost exactly along those lines. I have been reading Holocaust stories since the early 60s when books were coming out but there are more now. And what you have described is exactly how the families lived near the death camps. They smelt weird smells but ignored them and their lives were just as though everything was normal, not even a war happening. It is hard for us to even imagine what the Jews went through and I don’t think it has finished yet.
It's still on at some cinemas in NSW though only one or two showings a day. It's tipped to be nominated for Academy Awards but it's not the sort of film more than a few people would go and see.
I was shocked to see the Jewish producers/ directors of the movie at the Oscar’s repudiating their Jewishness and supporting Hamas. They obviously learned nothing from their own mistake movie. I don’t think I will bother watching the movie..

We had the dvd of The Boy in the striped pyjamas, and I have also read that book
I also like the book thief
Me too, Bella.

We stand with the Jewish people.
I feel for you, it must be so scary, my cousin recently converted to Judaism and I worry about her and her new husband. It can't be easy!
Thank you Bella. Yes it’s just atrocious what’s happening. But people don’t realise that the very essence of these fundamentalists is to bring down the west all our beliefs - Jewish, Christian ….
That’s very true.

Shades of "The Boy in Striped Pyjamas", I'd say. Have only read the book, not seen the movie - my.imagination provided all that I wanted to see!
I didn’t think the movie was as good as the book. There’s a sequel; All the Broken Places…
The movie is never as good as the book.
never!
Absolutely
yes, reminds me of that book
It was a very confronting movie but well worth seeing.
Too right, June. I was told, after the war, that my mother and grandmother supplied food for Berlin Jews in hiding. If they would have been found out --- concentration camp!
IF they would have been found out, they would have most likely been shot on the spot.
Well, they survived, but my mother's pro-Jewish attitude was known. There were those people who referred to her as "Jews' lackey" (Ger. Judenknecht)
Being the son and a brother of survivors ,who only survived because numerous Christians risked their lives to save them and 2 sacrificed their lives doing so, Its a great honour to know of people who risked so much because of principle. Thank God for people like your mother
Thank you, David. I appreciate your comment and I'm truly touched. In April 2012 I donated an 18-volume research series to the SMS's library entitled "The Holocaust Series". The museum put a dedication/recognition to/of my mother on the inside cover of each volume.

I have been a member of the Sydney Jewish Museum since June 1994. The SJM's research dept. - Prof. Konrad Kwiet - traced these orphans to Terezin. Like what's going on with the denial of excess deaths!
Stomach churning. Still hard to believe. People said ‘Never again’ but seems some need reminding.
Persecutions and genocide will continue for as long as our presently existing world order (a Satanic one) remains.
In a modern context there was squid game. I cannot fathom how much we have become so blasé about this violent “entertainment”.
I started watching squid game, but the shot of the person trying to get out of the coffin as in approached the crematorium was the turn off for me….
Hi Dianne, it's widely being shown here in Brissie!
Not in Gladstone
It's still on at some cinemas in NSW though only one or two showings a day. It's tipped to be nominated for Academy Awards but it's not the sort of film more than a few people would go and see.
I think if I had known about it I definitely would go see it!! Give us a heads up next time there’s something to see :)
