And while you're at it, James, you can also advise her (and the Matildas, and teams like them) who regular insert woke politics into sport, that they won't likely grow their sport if they continue to isolate those who just love sport for sports sake.

Maybe the Matildas can have the day off, but why everyone?

The taxpayer and small biz ought not be expected to cough up for a public holiday either.

Thanks James. There’s already too much money in men’s sport and I don’t think our tax dollars should fund women’s sport no matter how good they are. When I was a kid, our NRL and cricket players had actual real life jobs like Drs, electricians, optometrists etc.

I’m not sure when playing a sport in itself became a profession but the money involved is insane and encourages lazy players and cheating.

Yes James! Quite correct. I don’t mind sport, at an amateur level - it’s a good thing for many reasons. I do mind the false sense of entitlement to my taxpayer dollars which quite a lot of sportspersons exhibit. They are generally not humble people. Their wins (and losses) don’t help me at all. And their swanning around appearing to endorse good causes is largely window dressing - in order to seduce less discerning people. To say nothing of the corruption associated with elite sport….

Look, the reality is that if they increased the funding they'd suddenly have a heap of soccer players who would never in a million years qualify for the men's team turning up 'as women'.

Albo doesn’t even know what a woman is. So how does he know who he is pledging g support for? 😉

Is his subsidising of the Matilda’s similar to hi obsession to subsidise windmills and solar panels?

The women might be more successful than the solar and wind power fantasy

Thanks again for the logic, James. Thinking of all the different sports that are out there and the prize money /contract pay, this is the thin end of the wedge. I think of car racing and there are events that generate huge crowds with payment to match. Other rounds that may not attract as much obviously do not draw the same contract and prize money. If male AFL/ rugby/ soccer etc. ceased to have enough supporters, they would be in the same boat. I was hoping that my team of advanced lizard🦎 tamers would be supported but I guess this logic rules us out of the big money.
