Thanks, James, for continuing to express what so many of us are thinking. Manly players are to be commended for taking a stand for their beliefs and convictions, in the same way as other sports men and women you mention have done. “That no-one is interested in the players’ sexual preferences these days shows how far we have come.” Can we please just be allowed to watch a game of skill without having to be confronted with what should remain a matter for one’s bedroom?!

Love your take on this piece, having just watched the Manly Press Conference, what a fiasco! Please leave politics and whatever agenda you have to push out of sport. I just want to watch a rugby match.

There is a very old saying that goes, "Give a person enough rope, and they will end up hanging themselves!'

Similar to this is the saying that goes, 'Give a person an inch, and they will take a mile'.

The LGBTQ etc have taken more than a mile, and are now tripping over their own rope big time.

Australians do not suffer/put up with for long things sublime and ridiculous. The pendulum will swing once again - it has in other countries. There is always hope, and it is always darkest before the dawn.

Oh for common sense to reign once more!

'gay straight jacket'... another outrageously good line.

Spot on assessment once again. The intolerance of the tolerant is downright intolerable sometimes.

I feel like kicking a ball at the associations “uprights” 🤪

They are more concerned about options of fans and communicating the “we love everybody” than their own players. You do such a good job at unpacking woke stupidly James!

My best mate is a lawyer. He has always maintained defense is a precursor to presumption of guilt. The best defense is a good offense. Instead of refusing to wear a rainbow jersey it would be better to accept the terms assuming the league will set aside another game where all celebrate your beliefs regardless of what they are. That is true inclusiveness. I am not a Christian nor do I follow any religion created by humans but I respect the rights of ALL. Assuming I have the right to live my life my way so do you. So, the players not happy to wear the rainbow jersey for religious reasons should acquiesce IF the league sets aside a Christian match that would have appropriate jerseys to represent.

Good for those Islander men for standing up against the idiocy of the days in which we live. They have every right to hold to their beliefs and not parade around in homosexual clothing that goes against their Christian beliefe.

At last…players with balls.

According to the latest census, Christian’s are the minority.

Should everyone not be forced to wear a cross, perhaps say a prayer before a game or event, so that Christian’s feel included in society????

The alphabet group is pushing their agenda too hard. Enough is enough.

Forcing someone to wear a rainbow is not going to create inclusion, it’s creating resentment.

Great writing James. I wish your articles were given more spread in the MSM. You're saying what alot of people think. But watch how the MSM ignore the 'christian view' over the 'gay pride view'. The 7 players will be painted as 'villains and bigots' whilst the gay community will be 'the victim'. No surprises here. The fans just want to watch the footy. We've seen it all before and far too often. Cheers

“At least Manly have enough players for one side of the field - the left wing.“

Outstanding 😂
