Good laugh James, but it really is time the ADF got serious about preparing for war. Australian companies are already producing what is required in drone warfare and defence. Admittedly, we don’t want to see money wasted on unsuitable equipment but anything would be an improvement on eagles and hawks.
At the beginning of my RAAMC (Medical Corps) Training in preparation to go to SVN, my unit was fully skilled in, no not wound care, no not surgical skills, .....gardening! I spent most of my time pulling out weeds, sweeping barracks and mess hall, spit polishing my kit and painting rocks, (which lined our tent quarters) white so we didn't fall over them on our way to or from parade times. I learned the art of washing dishes and mopping floors which gave me housemaids knees. Came in mighty handy in my marriage though!

It would appear that dicipline is a dirty word when recruits under training can carry a red card to show their disaproval of their drill instructors FFS.
They doubtless consider it discipline, as a reflection of their generation, but it is a long way short of the iron self-discipline required to be effective in the field.
I know of a couple of Magpies who may be suitable for recruitment. Only in spring of course, but I'm sure our enemies will wait until we are ready.
