The New York Times says Brendon Fraser’s new movie, The Whale, in which he plays an obese man trying to reconnect with his family, has upset “the fat acceptance movement”.
Now i’m not sure if that’s a large movement, but I’m guessing it’s membership is sizeable.
The movie has received solid reviews.
Fraser received a hefty fee his meaty depiction of the main character who takes up the bulk of the screen time.
He has been nominated for an Oscar which, as we all know, carries a lot of weight in the industry.
Actor fees have been bloated in recent years so the gross revenue for this substantial film will need to be sizeable.
I’ll show myself out.
You’ve managed to weigh up a very delicate subject Mr Macpherson. But your piece is nothing if not balanced.
One might even say well-rounded.
Nominated for an Oscar...?
Fat chance he’ll win.
