Well said James...as usual!! We all love your comments and directness in these trying times!1

As far as I'm concerned, every member of the Essendon football club should resign in protest at the way this man has been treated. Do they realise it is blight on our Australian Constitution, let alone our democracy and standards for which our forebears fought!!

So let’s work this out we have a corporate who says sorry when legally challenged...No surprise here...this is just further evidence for a soulless organisation..a place which is bereft of any values or professional respect just blindly following with cult-like compliance completely invested in political correctness and arse covering behaviour. Welcome to the new workplace in Australia...the institutions, the corporates, the government run sites all are gone. Most following the KPI of woke and if you identify as a Christian and speak for biblical principles you may find yourself fighting for a job. True Christians will find much persecution in their workplace but that’s ok true Christianity enables us to flourish even when public opinion turns against us.. just like it did with the Roman Empire! The problem is most of the church is not seeing or preaching about these issues so many will be blindsided or caught of guard and this will cause distress to many for many are unprepared!

Thank you, James. You are skilled at expressing my jumbled thoughts so I can understand them!

Nail on the head as usual.

It seems to me that before "woke" Australian sport, businesses, social groups etc for the most part where tolerant and inclusive of race, sexual preference, religion etc. We may not agree with the other but we did accept and "get on with it". Now look where we are and who damn well caused it. The bigoted, haters of woke.

Thank you for sifting through the media garbage James. I just can’t stand regular TV anymore, where right, healthy living is getting misconstrued, bashed and bullied into an odd shaped box. I join you in being gobsmacked regarding media’s miss directed sympathy for Essendon after they have faced some watered down justice over their fatal ‘one punch’ knockout blow delivered to an innocent, unsuspecting and outstanding citizen. Has the world flipped inside out and back to front somehow?

The power and the folly of faceless people calling the shots behind the scenes.

I wonder how many of them will be under pressure to move on after bringing the club into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons?

They can’t hold their heads high, but Mr. Thorburn can.

What I found as shocking as Essendon's treatment of Andrew Thorburn were the comments made by a certain premier who vilified a private citizen by using his Catholicism as a justification for his pro-stance, to such an extent that senior leaders of Faith, including Catholic, Anglican, Baptist and the Muslim spoke out and condemned his words. I have much respect for all those leaders who came out in support of Andrew Thorburn.

I grew up in Hobart supporting TGL teams. (I am that old.) And Essendon was my VFL team. Now I despise all professional sport and avoid it at all costs. I even mute commentary. This debacle just continues to confirm my view. ‘Essendon can move on…’ that says it all. I pray God will use Andrew Thorburn in a mighty way. I pray AT will realise you can never appease the LGBT..etc gods ever.

It will be interesting to see what, if anything, will impact the Essendon club & the AFL in general. I’m thinking membership, ticket sales & viewers of games.
