And these people actually get very well paid for churning out this stuff. Tim Flannery initially got a degree in English Literature, before doing some post graduate sturdies in geology and palaeontology. I'm guessing that he probably wasn't paying much attention...

I'm a scientist. A geologist among other things. Of course there is climate change. It's been happening at varying rates since there has been a climate. I'm not convinced that humans have contributed to that significantly. Certainly not by increasing the CO2 atmospheric concentration. Sure, that MAY have increased by human activity, but even the UNFCCC conceded that atmospheric CO2 concentrations closely track global temperature changes, but they LAG BEHIND BY A YEAR OR SO... Let that sink in please.

It is a result. Clearly not the cause. One UN Climate change head, conceded this a few years ago, but asserted it is "pushing it from behind". Talk about rolling on the floor laughing. I doubt if one could convince a primary school class that something that follows by around a year is the cause of something that has already occurred. Yet hat's off to them. They seem to have convinced much of the world's population.

Anyway, regardless of the complex causes of climate change, (perhaps the sun has a bit to do with that?), it is such absurd arrogance to think that belated human efforts of any sort can control the planet's temperature and limit changes to 2º or so. (Trying not to laugh again). However the measures being rolled out are proving very effective at controlling populations.

Lest you misunderstand, I am not dismissing the threat from human caused pollution. Pharmaceuticals are turning up in water supplies. Glyphosate is now detectable in rain. Apparently pristine ecologies are suffering dramatic decreases in fertility of many species. In other words, these clowns are basically ignoring the real potential problems and shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. - And virtue signalling their heads off, while they control people. And all the while milking the gravy train like crazy.

Of course an asteroid of decent size may be really something to be concerned, worried, scared about, if they ever detect one heading our way... :)

Thankyou Terry.

The vast volcano in Tonga blew up an estimated 150 million cubic metres of sea water into the atmosphere last year.( I do not know how you would make this estimate?) Water in the air is more green house than a bit of extra carbon which is good plant food.

I spent a fair bit of time in the company of geologists in my flying career and was a facinated observer of their skills .(ie I could sit and listen for an hour and not understand a word that they said -such was the depth of their science --I was tolerated and patiently enlightened to what they were doing ) I also remember a volcano erupting in Indonesia in my youth that beautified our sunsets for about a year Millions of tons of matter and these morons are worried about a few cattle farting ,

James, this is the con & sequence of climate change spin and shiny bummed pants wearers in Canberra providing more comedy relief in these difficult financial times ( unless you have an influential friend leeching off Qantas)

I noticed on my NRMA home insurance that the premium changed less than 1% but the 3 govt taxes all went up about 16%, (ESL, GST and stamp duty).

As a farmer, after 41 years experiencing every possible combination of weather (daily changes)and climate (long term fluctuations) I fail to believe in climate change. The only people talking about "climate change"are those making money from it or who want more power for themselves to control other people.

Likewise Andrew between flying and farming I have spent most of my life watching the weather and not if it was going to stuff up a day at the beach or da foody .We are dummies to put up with this arrant BULLSHIT and the sooner the Canberra swamp is drained the better and not just politicians ,their willing dummies in the public service . Take a clue from that new bloke in the Argentine Mr Dutton and sweep that floor as well --- please .

I love a sunburnt country . . .

A land of drought and flooding rains.

If you ask me seems not much has changed since Dorothea Mackellar penned those iconic words about 100 yrs ago. Don’t think they were panicking then but perhaps our ancestors were a tougher breed.

Mitcham Council in SA declared a "climate emergency'. Step 1. Council funded EV free charging stations. Oops, didn't work, weren't used, too slow, wasted $100,000, now closed, but "only a trial anyway." Step 2. Ban gas in sporting club BBQ's. Step 3. Ban Santos Tour Down Under promotions.

Step 4. Invite an interstate company to set up chinese solar panels in residents homes sponsored by council.

Step 5. Go broke.

I am so dick and tired of this nonsense. Truly, people I always assumed to be intelligent, swallow this garbage and regurgitate it ad nauseum. Thank you dear fellow followers of James. You give me hope that I am not the nut job. God bless you James! I mean that 🙏🏻❤️

What is the next big scare ? How about someone tells the chinese that sending rockets into space will drill holes in the atmosphere and let all the air out . Well why not ? it is no less stupid than this climate change rubbish .

I’m surprised they haven’t connected the climate with an increase in societal gender dysphoria. I guess that’s next & something to look forward to. Rolling, rolling, rolling my eyes…

Oh James this report is enough to bring tears to my eyes, in a sudden deluge!

Was our Minister for Energy Mr. Bowen, a student of the "It will never rain enough to fill the dams", Tim O'fer-crying-out-loud Flannery? I think Treasurer, Prince Charming-you-with-cheaper electricity bills, must have learned how to marry inflation to rising and plunging temperatures from the same school of Economically Destructive Climate Change Models also used by CSIRO boffins who say heavy deluges, like in Spain yesterday, will tilt the planet on its side and then, "We'll all die"!

But my electricity bills are tied exponentially to Federal Budgets promoting anything that will save us from an energy crisis, anything except Nuclear!

That's another bunch of documents you didn't have to reveal to us, James!

Where do these ‘aliens’ spring from? I’m surprised they haven’t mentioned the Great Barrier Reef, our beef and dairy industry flatulence, the sinking Pacific Islands and not to forget the great Australian contribution to world pollution! Apart from rofl and trying to roll my eyes in sync with my exertions, the only thing that worries me is that these galahs are let loose in our society and given ‘freedom of speech’!! Well spoken out James - thank you Fearless Keyboard Warrior! 🙏

When I was in primary school our Mum hired a TV for 3 months each winter so we 6 kids got to see TV when it was cold and hopefully wet outside. About 1973 I remember seeing a show on the Great Barrier Reef. The alarm was that if the Qld govt did not immediately put in millions of $ then the whole reef would be dead within 3 years from the star fish eating everything. 51 years later the reef is still very healthy. So much for climate change hysteria!

I am at a loss to understand how an intelligent and educated population that we have got in Australia can be so accepting of the blatant un ashamed lies told by Bowen ,Tim Whatsit ,the wog and others .When there is a change of government (and there will be if the Coalition turn this economic suicide around ). Coal ,gas ,nuclear and hydro will do the job and to hell with this wind and solar BULLSHIT forever .

2 days ago our Livestock Agent (he helps us sell our sheep and cattle at auction in the sale yards for a commission) told us he had been offered a retainer of $100,000 pa to talk farmers into allowing wind towers to be built on their farms. When he said he would stick to his current job selling stock (which he is very good at) they promptly increased their pay offer to $200,000pa.

There seems to be unlimited money and taxpayer subsidies to build these loss making and pointless towers that only make power about 20% of the time during the year. My guess is that in 40 years there will be no towers, they will be remembered as an insane and stupid idea.

Expand full comment

Yes Andrew ,we used Elders in Coonamble when we were farming . These towers ,I feel will be too expensive to remove and remain an eyesore and hazard to aerial agriculture aircraft and eventually fall over and the land holder have to clean up this incredibly stupid and inept governments mess ---again

So the gist of it, is to suffer silently in your dogbox of an apartment without turning your AC on, lest that will accelerate the demise of our climate? if that gives you mental health issues, then be assured it's for the greater good, have a cold bath, but make sure you recycle the water. Seriously, who can believe this unless you have no critical thinking skills? Yep that's the target audience.
