While Jaguar has started identifying as Woke, Bud Light has de-transitioned.
Most of you would be aware that the beer company came out as Woke last year.
Friends and family were shocked. They never knew 40-year-old Bud Light was struggling with brand dysphoria.
The condition was diagnosed by the company’s first female vice president who declared that the product needed to shed it’s “fratty” and “out of touch” image.
And what better way to do that then to create a special Bud Light can celebrating transgendered influencer Dylan Mulvaney!
Mulvaney was approaching what he called his “365th day of Girlhood”.
If you’ve forgotten who Mulvaney is, well then, God has been kind to you.
But here’s a reminder …
Mulvaney later came out as a lesbian which (as I explain in the video below that has had almost a million views) was all kinds of weird.
But back to the Wokes at Bud Light HQ …
They created a Bud can to rejoice in the fact that a man had been pretending to be a woman.
They sincerely belied that the specially-themed can would boost sales and ingratiate them with the next generation.
It’s proof positive that being sincere and being correct are not necessarily the same thing.
Who could possibly have imagined that blokes didn’t want to drink a beer associated with gender-botherer Dylan Mulvaney?
People immediately stopped drinking Bud Light.
Within two weeks the beer’s year-on-year sales had dropped 17 percent and by 27 percent within a month.
The resulting backlash cost the brand more than $1 billion in lost revenue and lost them their title as best-selling beer.
The Bud Light debacle is considered one of the worst marketing fiascos in history.
But over the weekend, Bud Light announced that it was de-transitioning.
The company released a brand new commercial called “The Wrong Commercial” (See what they did there?)
Comedian Shane Gillis poses as a regular guy who was scheduled to be in a beer commercial at a bar, but instead finds himself in an over-the-top artistic perfume ad.
Gillis reacts as any normal person would.
Get it? Bud Light is back being a normal beer for normal people …
As u-turns go, it’s a big one!
I particularly liked how Gillis is admiring the beautiful woman before pretending he’s not, and then exclaiming “Where’d you get a snake?!?!”
Read into that what you will.
Anyway, the message is clear. Bud Light regrets coming out as Woke, and has gone back to being a beer for everyday folk.
Will people buy it? Maybe.
Shane Gillis might have singlehandedly saved Bud Light.
If there is anyone at all with a brain still left at Jaguar, I expect they’ll be scrambling to find Shane Gillis’ phone number.
Good morning James. Honestly you’re swamped with subject matter, but, you do it so well 😃 Thanks
Let us hope that the woke world is being put back where it belongs, not just asleep, but dead and buried.
