As a biblical believer in Yeshua Messiah our redeemer I find that the bible is my guide to all these questions and I ignore what others like Andrew Denton have to say on theology or social matters.

“See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do thus in the land where you are entering to possess it. So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him? (Deuteronomy 4: 5-7)

“The wise men are put to shame, They are dismayed and caught; Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, And what kind of wisdom do they have?" (Jeremiah 8: 9)

"For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside. Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" (1 Corinthians 1: 19-20)

"And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. (Romans 1: 28-32)

Over thirty years ago a wise man taught me this. There are laws of nature. In order to have laws, you must have an authority figure. Born to an atheist, and having no religion as such, I took comfort in this. I strive to behave according to Christian, or other religious morals, simply because they represent truth.

Atheists telling Christians how to be Christian. Right. Atheists, like Denton have no place attacking that which they don't understand. Misinterpretation is always key to their criticism. Life is a precious gift and I know it is valued by more than people of faith. Trying to guilt society into agreeing with killing people isn't good for anybody. Final word.....Canada.

I must admit I did like Andrew when he interviewed a large variety of guests on his shows. I found him entertaining, witty and intelligent.

I now just feel sorry for him when he criticises a doctrine that he rejects and clearly does not understand. But God will still love him.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Denton. He is the ultimate atheist from way back! He wouldn't have a clue about christian beliefs, sadly!

The old saying Pamela; " There are no atheists in foxholes." They're all on the high wire, working without a net, imo.

Christianity is true whether anyone anyone believes it or Not...amen. Is tree . Thanks James. It think Denton thinks he is God. He obviously threatened by Christian, the Church and above the Lord God of the universe, who decides the length of time on this earth. Praise God that He gives eternal life because of Jesus and we have no need to fear pain or death.

God has put the knowledge of Himself within the heart of all men. The atheist has to convince himself through deceit that God does not exist, yet they still worship something. Andrew Denton, like so many others, considers himself beyond Christianity and more intelligent than those who profess their need of Jesus. What gives him the right to condone anyone's death ? What gives a Government the right to condone euthanasia? Our lives are in His hands not mans

Great journalism as usual. You are a breathe of fresh air in this twisted society that is totally confused because it no longer recognises the power of living by God’s Word and how to entwine it into our lives so that we have an abundant life. The Bible is the manual for our lives.

Thanks James for calling it the typical hipocrisy of the atheistic diatribe in such a pointed and distinct way. Love to hear you debate Denton on this one day!

There are no such thing as atheists, God doesn't believe in them!

Think back to when the wishes of the broader community resulted in a worldwide flood with just eight people in the boat (ark). It gives me no pleasure to know that Denton will find out "the hard way" that there is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun.

Denton: " this institution receives enormous subsidies from taxpayers"

??. Hang on: It receives funding not for itself but eg in the case of schools to pass on to taxpayers to do what taxpayers want it to do for their children what the government is unable to do for their children, ie provide an informed Catholic education.

That's democracy Andrew.
