It Can Happen Here

It has happened: X (formerly Twitter) has been fully banned in Brazil. The government targeted the service because Elon Musk would not comply with illegal secret orders to take down dissident accounts. All other social platforms did comply so they are left alone. Further, the edict criminalizes VPN access with a fine of $10,000 a day.

Brownstone Institute has many friends in Brazil, and we’ve been in close communication, doing what we can to stop the madness.

One might suppose there would be a global outcry. That has not happened. On the contrary, leading pundits in the US have called for the same here. The State Department has had nothing to say about this. No question about it: the same is coming to the US if certain people get their way.

It can happen here.

Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg finally confessed what we have gathered from all evidence thus far: the elections of both 2020 and 2022 were profoundly affected by the forced exclusion of pro-freedom voices. Did you feel alone these days? Indeed, there was a reason. Opposition to lockdowns and vaccine mandates were censored by the government with social media’s cooperation.

You can feel the curtain of totalitarianism descending but it is not hopeless, and there is still time to speak out, while we are able. Be grateful you can read this message. There could come a time when you cannot.

The world of free speech is now heavily vexed by a powerful architecture of censorship, an industrial complex that uses corporate consolidation, third-party funding, and censorial embeds to marginalize based on opinion contrary to regime priorities both industrial and political.

Brownstone Institute’s Censorship Working Group is in need of funding to renew its relentless work for another year. If you can help, please do so. Now is the time. None of this would be possible without the support of donors who care deeply about broader issues such as this one. Brownstone Institute’s deep gratitude is very much due for having made this possible.

You can still buy your ticket for our Philadelphia supper club on September 5th. Our guest speaker is Mary Holland, CEO of Children’s Health Defense and a leader in the health freedom movement for more than two decades. She’ll tell us about recent issues in children’s health and vaccines and will share stories about her advocacy work since the Covid pandemic.

You can also register for the West Hartford, Connecticut supper club, on Wednesday, September 18, featuring Dr. Toby Rogers, a leading voice for sanity. You know him from his writings on Brownstone. Now you can hear him in person.

Registrations for our November 1-2 conference and gala, at the William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, have been high, so we’ve expanded capacity. Secure your spot. It’s the extravaganza of the year. You should come to be among friends in times fraught with peril. All the names you know will be present, including Robert Malone, Bret Weinstein, Jay Bhattarcharya, and many more.

Here is some content since our last email.

Glimpse into the Future of Food By Meryl Nass. The World Economic Forum, governments, and multinational agencies want to redesign our food supply. So-called plant-based meats, lab-grown meats, “synbio” products, insect protein, and other totally new foods are to replace much of the real meat people enjoy.

The UN Invites Its Friends To Dinner By David Bell and Thi Thuy Van Dinh. The UN was set up to be a servant of “The Peoples.” It has grown, perhaps inevitably, to be a self-serving club working with a chosen few, and is gradually becoming self-entitled and detached.

Why Did Zuckerberg Choose Now to Confess? By Jeffrey Tucker. The Zuckerberg admission provides a first official and confirmed peek into the greatest scandal of our times and the global silencing of critics, resulting in manipulating election outcomes, the marginalization of dissent, and the overriding of all free speech protections.

The Rise of Global Conformism By Bruce Davidson. Opposition to global conformism does not mean retreating into an attitude of suspicion and hostility to all things foreign, new, or unfamiliar. The world’s various peoples often influence each other by the attractions and achievements of their respective societies.

Fifty Shades of Central Bank Tyranny By Aaron Day. Each layer of our digital currency system peels back the seductive mask of freedom, revealing progressively darker shades of control. As we delve deeper, what seems like autonomy is only an illusion where more pervasive forms of dominance lay hidden.

The First Amendment Cannot Stop Pavel Durov’s Arrest in America By Brownstone Institute. Parties that once dedicated themselves to free expression are now the leading proponents of “content moderation.” The Washington Post reported that “authorities detained Durov as part of a preliminary investigation that focused on the lack of content moderation on Telegram.”

We No Longer Ponder the Good Life By Thomas Harrington. I cannot remember the last discussion I had about the Good Life. When we consider that this question has been one of the mainstays of Western intellectual life for more than 2,500 years, its absence from our public is alarming.

Mpox, Numbers, and Reality By David Bell. The number of Mpox deaths will rise as more are infected. However, we are facing a small problem in an area with far larger ones. It is posing low local risk and minimal global risk.

A Stain on the Vermont Supreme Court By John Klar. If the courts of the nation do not uphold constitutional laws, who will protect young children from Big Pharma, experimental vaccines, government mandates, or even malfeasance? The Vermont Supreme Court’s Politella decision is an atrocious legal precedent.

Open Letter to Students and Parents about Vaccines By Clayton J. Baker. This letter serves two purposes. First, it informs students and parents that both traditional vaccines and the newer mRNA VINOs are problematic at best. Second, it reminds young people of their right to determine what is done to their body.

This Is Not Capitalism By Jeffrey Tucker. Just because something is available in the consumer marketplace does not necessarily mean that it is a product of the voluntary matrix of exchange that would otherwise profit in a genuinely free market.

Stages of Covid-19 Infection By Lori Weintz. We have not yet come to terms with the shocking fact that malpractice and inhumane treatments were rampant during the Covid-19 pandemic. Treatment was sometimes especially egregious if the patient was unvaccinated for Covid-19.

Cheney’s “One Percent Doctrine” Comes to Public Health By Thomas Harrington. “One percent doctrine” holds that if someone high up in Washington believes that there is a one-percent chance of some foreign actor wanting to seriously harm the United States’ interests, then he/we have the right to eliminate that potential actor.

How We Can Rebuild American Science By Toby Rogers. All of the data that we have right now is filtered through the pharmaceutical industry and it is fraudulent and unreliable. We need to rebuild the knowledge base in science and medicine from the ground up.

Corporate Media pushes West Nile panic as cover story for mass spraying of toxic chemicals on Americans

The West Nile psyop is nothing but an excuse to chemtrail millions of Americans with toxic airborne chemicals that cause neurological damage and death (including seizures and comas).

The WHO attacks children in Palestine with weaponized polio vaccines

Since the kinetic bombing and tank attacks didn't kill all the children in Palestine, now the WHO is rolling in with polio vaccines that are engineered to actually spread polio and cause mass death.

This is what polio vaccines accomplish in India, where they keep the polio plandemic rolling along. It's all part of a population control program pushed by globalists and deployed against humanity. Now it's being used as a weapon against Palestinian children.

On top of that, Christian churches in America are also now endorsing mass ethnic cleansing in Palestine, violating the very teachings of Christ and the disciples who carried his word forward. Somehow, so-called "Christian" churches across America have become truly anti-Christ in their teachings.

The greatest threat to us all is government violence and coercion in many forms

If you are an American, the greatest threat against your health and your life isn't COVID, nor West Nile, nor Zika, EEE, Ebola or any other plandemic. The greatest threat against you comes from your own corrupt federal government, which relies on violence, aggression, threats and coercion to get what it wants.

Your government attacks you with bioweapons, wages war on your psyche with propaganda, carpet bombs your lungs with chemtrail spraying, approves the spraying of your foods with toxic chemical cocktails based on chemical weapons, grants medical monopolies to toxic chemotherapy and vaccine bioweapons, all while openly encouraging violent illegals to take over your cities and neighborhoods while defunding police.

This subject is covered in depth by Mike Adams of Brighteon.org and an in-studio interview with U.S. Congressman Michael Cloud (R-TX) who discusses restoring America to its God-given greatness by bringing back the values on which America was founded.

I was wondering if the government were afraid to include them because then they'd see just how few people there are in Australia who don't identify as either male or female. Then they'd have to drop their ridiculous support for the LGBTQIA agenda..... maybe..... they didn't pay attention to Australia saying NO to the Voice, so why would they listen if almost no one identified as other than male or female on the Census???

Peter Dutton, unpopular as he is with some, is at least honest and hard-working. He's our local member and has weathered many political storms because he listens to people and gets things done. IMO that outweighs any amount of charisma. I'd like to see him in government- it might just be a refreshing change!

I only know what I see on TV and I like him. I would much prefer a leader with real life experience over some bloody sook political staffer who got lucky . Anyone who says that a retired Inspector of detectives has no life skills is probably a labor staffer .

Everything that comes out of Albanese’s, Bowen’s mouth and now Jim Chalmers is a complete inversion of the truth. Social cohesion: it is Albanese and acolytes who have destroyed it. No Peter Dutton is not a divisive man, he is bringing the country together.

As far as saying PD is the most dangerous man in politics in the modern era, no that is the hard socialist left Labor Party led by Albanese.

They have dismantled, destroyed, divided, discriminated and lied. All they are interested in is shoring up votes for the next election.

And I would agree that Peter Dutton is a very dangerous man but not for Australia but bloody dangerous for the chances of the wog and his collection of dickheads for re-election.

Albo lacks a backbone as does his circus lions running around like monkeys! James, haven’t you heard, LGBTQ +KFC is the old model. The new model runs like an old bomb, it’s the pro Jihad model. Terrorism is the top of the range and they’ll approve your welfare ticket within the hour. This government changes its direction faster than you can say greens or teals! You really have no idea where this government sits at a point in time. As you say, you can’t make this stuff up however Albo does all the time.

The world is in a state of flux…populations are struggling and fearful….this is the time to be strong and stand up in this country.

You’ve seen examples of New Zealanders moving to Australia. They should be fighting for their own.

This government has let its people down. Personally I think they just don’t get how to govern.

Their mindset is it’s a “job”….knock off at 5!

You cannot “wing” running the country. Hence they make grandiose statements and plans which they can never ever keep.

They’re starting to decay from within its quite palpable and if there was a brain between them the outcome of the Voice should have been a wake up.

I’m betting on Australian strength and tenacity to once again kick this Labor government to the kerb….we need a Liberal landslide.

It a good thing not have to navigate yet another mangled section of the census. I suspect labelling the morons in charge preschoolers is an insult to preschoolers. They are more forthright and know what they think than the moronic meanderings that dribble out of the mouths of these idiots we call the government.

When Chicken Chalmers was attacking Dutton's character last week, I swear I thought he was talking about albo, (divisive, lack of empathy etc) but just tacked Dutton on the end. It was pretty lame, and just shows how much the pressure may well be getting to them, they lied to get in, you would think Albo was going to do a decent job, by reducing immigration and training young people, but he just had amnesia and reverted to the stupid actions we see today. Wasted the first year on "The Voice" like it was a pet project, then when it went down like the Hindenburg, he claimed he had no emotional investment in it. Truely the worst Government I can remember, but that's Ok as it reflects the changing tastes of the Free Economic Zone, (formerly known as Australia.) I don't hear many complaints among my friends, either they don't know or don't care. (I might need a new circle of friends?).

Albo has dropped a long way since he first took the top job. He has gone from making Tania P apologise, for insulting Dutton, to staying silent about Chalmers verbal assaults on Dutton.

Time for another change!

I know who I would like to lead my country (be it labor or conservative)to be a man or woman of strength, integrity ,guts experience of the world (not just a narrow political hacks view)and above all a patriotic love of country its history and people. Maybe your friends are just frightened to speak out Shawn…we seem to have developed a “sheep” mentality. Remember Covid and the vaccinations…omg you were screamed at if you didn’t wear a mask and heaven help you if you didn’t get vaxed 😱

I actually wish people wouldn't mix politics with medical protection issues. There are/were reasons for at least some of the restrictions. I would still wear a mask (PROPERLY, not under my chin!) if anywhere near a covid sufferer, for example - yes, yes, I know it's not 100% protection, but those of us who have worked in hospitals with infectious diseases know that a good mask properly worn is SOME protection.

And my frail-aged mother, who is in a nursing home on respite at present, had covid for the first time last week. A very mild case, thankfully, and that likely because she'd had a covid booster just before she went in! Well I probably won't convince anyone with firm and opposite opinions, but do consider that there are educated people who do agree with infection control measures during pandemics!

You summed it up perfectly with your line "We are led by a bunch of pre-schoolers." Sadly, this is accurate...and their pre-schooler memories have forgotten the vast majority of the people they were voted in to represent. This nation is not heading in the direction that the larger population considers it should...and yet...
