I actually wish people wouldn't mix politics with medical protection issues. There are/were reasons for at least some of the restrictions. I would still wear a mask (PROPERLY, not under my chin!) if anywhere near a covid sufferer, for example - yes, yes, I know it's not 100% protection, but those of us who have worked in hospitals with infectious diseases know that a good mask properly worn is SOME protection.
And my frail-aged mother, who is in a nursing home on respite at present, had covid for the first time last week. A very mild case, thankfully, and that likely because she'd had a covid booster just before she went in! Well I probably won't convince anyone with firm and opposite opinions, but do consider that there are educated people who do agree with infection control measures during pandemics!

I know who I would like to lead my country (be it labor or conservative)to be a man or woman of strength,integrity ,guts experience of the world (not just a narrow political hacks view)and above all a patriotic love of country its history and people. There aint nothing like that on the left nor has there been for many years .
Maybe your friends are just frightened to speak out Shawn…we seem to have developed a “sheep” mentality. Remember Covid and the vaccinations…omg you were screamed at if you didn’t wear a mask and heaven help you if you didn’t get vaxed 😱
I actually wish people wouldn't mix politics with medical protection issues. There are/were reasons for at least some of the restrictions. I would still wear a mask (PROPERLY, not under my chin!) if anywhere near a covid sufferer, for example - yes, yes, I know it's not 100% protection, but those of us who have worked in hospitals with infectious diseases know that a good mask properly worn is SOME protection.
And my frail-aged mother, who is in a nursing home on respite at present, had covid for the first time last week. A very mild case, thankfully, and that likely because she'd had a covid booster just before she went in! Well I probably won't convince anyone with firm and opposite opinions, but do consider that there are educated people who do agree with infection control measures during pandemics!

Sadly, this is accurate...and their pre-schooler memories have forgotten the vast majority of the people they were voted in to represent. This nation is not heading in the direction that the larger population considers it should...and yet...
