'Young Man, Your Cancer was Caused By Racism'
It's not really. But you just might die from laughing
I know it’s impolite to laugh at cancerous tumours, but this clip from an actual TV doctor series had me in stitches …
The show is New Amsterdam (Season 2 Episode 14) in which the very woke Dr Frome discovers the root cause of his patient's tumors is racism.
Can you also get a tumor from laughing harder than you have ever laughed before? #askingforafriend
Watching this reminded me of the time I went to the hospital suffering from Covid and was sent home with a BLM t-shirt. But I digress.
This scene from New Amsterdam is one of the most ridiculous scenes ever broadcast. And the fact that it’s done s seriously only serves to make it funnier.
For those of you old enough to get the reference, it’s Leslie Nielsen level deadpan comedy.
The actor deserves an Oscar for being able to deliver that line without bursting into laughter.
But honestly, they should have included a line where Dr Frome says …
“Son, racism has given you a tumor. So here’s a high earning , black , and attractive female doctor who will further elaborate before we issue you with a $250,000 medical bill.”
That would have been gold! Alas, if only I’d been a screenwriter.
Don’t expect future episodes to be any better. I hear the next one will feature a woman who identifies as a man with prostate cancer caused by internalized transphobia. Or climate change. The activists screenwriters are still deciding.
You’ll be pleased to know that all the patients from these episodes recover after being prescribed three doses of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
The frightening thing about watching that clip is that, if you’ve spent any time around CEOs, teachers or university students, you’ll know that is literally how many of them speak speak.
Television programming is now reaching North Korean levels of propaganda. And that’s NOT a joke.
That really is funny! However, there would be some who actually believe that stupidity - look out for future diagnoses. You have brought outso well, the idiocy of our society today James
Monty Python could have delivered it better…I was waiting for the big boot to stomp on the scene..
