THE modern progressive is one who continually opens old wounds, and then asks why they never heal.
But former US President Barack Obama didn’t just open old wounds on Wednesday, he used the deaths of primary school children to do it.
The day after a gunman shot dead 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas, Obama tweeted:
“As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him.”
Of all the words Obama could have chosen, he went with those!
It may well have been the two-year anniversary of George Floyd’s death, but to suggest that mourners may want to take time out from grieving children killed in a school shooting to further memorialise Floyd was insensitive and inappropriate in the extreme.
Talk about showing up to a fire with a can of gasoline!
Then again, you gotta keep that race war going.
And it’s annoying when events get in the way of your favourite narrative. If only the events you wished to exploit lined up better on the calendar, damn it.
Oh well …
‘You may well be grieving the slaughter of 19 primary school children but don’t forget that Saint George was murdered two years ago. Sure, his killer was convicted & sentenced to 22 years jail, but racial division must continue. So as you grieve your dead children, please keep that in mind.’
Wow.
Imagine Obama showing up at a funeral …
‘I'm so sorry for your loss. Anway, while we're here, my best friend died a couple of years ago today so I'm gonna need you to make this funeral about me too, thanks.’
If the Divider-in-Chief really must talk about a school shooting and George Floyd in the same tweet, he might like to discuss how BLM, with it’s insane calls to ‘defund the police’ meant already stretched policing resources were moved away from schools.
No? I didn’t think so. It doesn’t fit the narrative, you see.
Well said James..👍🏽😃
And 12 years since Obamacare split the country down the middle. Careful what you wish for America.
