We Are Doomed ... Eventually

Scientists warn the end is 250 million years away, but we cannot afford complacency

Scientists using supercomputers to create models of the distant future have warned that the formation of a supercontinent could wipe out us all out in 250 million year, give or take a few weeks. It’s not an exact science.

Scientists from the University of Bristol in the UK have predicted that climate extremes will intensify once the earth’s landmasses converge, and that’ll be it for us.

They discovered - with the right computer inputs - that their fictitious supercontinent would be “extremely hot, dry and virtually uninhabitable” for humans “who are not evolved to cope with prolonged exposure to excessive heat”.

Or who, presumably, don’t have air conditioning.

Researchers simulated temperature, wind, rain and humidity trends for the supercontinent and used models of tectonic plate movement, ocean chemistry and biology to calculate carbon dioxide levels.

After imagining a continent that does not exist, and creating imagined weather patterns, they were shocked to imagine that we are all completely screwed a long, long time from now.

They warned that 250 million years from now there will be regular volcanic eruptions, a warming planet, a sun shining brighter and brighter, and non stop hip hop music whether you wanted to listen to it or not.

That last part is not true, but if it ever did happen, well that would be the end of the world.

That’s if the progressive Left don’t end the world in the next five years.

The University of Bristol findings were published Monday in the journal of Nature Geoscience.

The scientists did admit that “there are large uncertainties when making predictions so far into the future”.

Wow. You think?

And yet, they were prepared to make them.

So stunning.

So brave.

Let’s face it, none of us will be here in 250 million years to discredit them.

But we are here now, to buy their magazine, to purchase tickets to their talks, and to invite them into the corridors of power to tell us how much more we should pay in taxes to avoid impending doom.

Importantly, the scientists warned that just because we are all doomed in 250 million years, it doesn’t mean we should not be very worried about our present doom.

“While we are predicting an uninhabitable planet in 250 million years, today we are already experiencing extreme heat that is detrimental to human health. This is why it is crucial to reach net-zero emissions as soon as possible.”

You have to love modern academics. They know how to make sure they get published.
