The Project’s Waleed Aly has suggested that ‘No’ voters were more likely to be less educated.
Or was he talking about Channel 10 viewers?

Aly said last night …
“The biggest dividing line (between Yes and No voters) seems to have been education.”
Hmmm. Go on …
So if you are in a seat that had high levels of tertiary education - bachelor or post grad - then you were at the very top end of the ‘Yes’ vote. And if you had the lowest levels of tertiary education you were the low end of the ‘Yes’ vote.
Okay.
Voting patterns at the referendum do seem to back back that up.
The only electorates voting ‘Yes’ in NSW were wealthy, inner city, mostly tertiary educated ones.
But correlation doesn’t always mean causation.

Well that’s a relief.
Because, for a second there, I thought Aly was going to conclude that ‘No’ voters were just plain dumb. You know, as opposed to dinosaurs or d*ckheads, as Ray Martin had suggested.
But then Waled Aly said this …
