The world has become an angry, divisive & litigious place. It’s such a shame that our “evolution” has brought us here rather than, as you say James, just enjoying things for what they are.
Looks of food for thought to digest there James! Maybe this is why good Aussie humour has gone out the window! Remember Paul Hogan? I used to laugh my head off at his antics on tv. Now those episodes would not make it to air! - misogynistic, racist, all white cast etc etc, and you know, you never heard the F... word! But you hear that all the time on tv today!!
Bobby, Bobby!! You are on fire mate! The F…bomb is definitely appropriate sometimes in male company iMHO. But when it comes to men using it around women and children, I draw the line. I can definitely say I am old fashioned, however the use of bad language on TV always grates on my aging ears and shows, again IMHO, a severe lack of vocabulary!
Poor bugger that professor did he think that it was a documentary Home and Away and Neighbors ?? I thought that both programmes were infantile ,vacuous crap and still do ---what GARBAGE we call television entertainment
Why do we have to analyse everything? Is it because we don’t trust people? Maybe it would be fair enough if our own lives were pure and innocent . It’s must easier to criticise than examine our own hearts. Good stuff James.
This thought process is very much a product of the West. As previously mentioned, spending about three weeks in a third world country would probably cure most people of inward navel gazing and analysing everything.
I met two Bangladeshi army bods in Istanbul last year. They seemed to say that Bangladesh was under water for six months of the year! That would definitely give you something to worry about.
Yes Lois 147000 sq/km (Victoria )226638 sq/km ---population in 1973 when I was there was 67.64million and now (in 2025 ) the population was 173.4 million . and yes the place is almost 50% under water. I am buggered if I know where they stand --they must take it in turns
Narcissism seems to abound in this day and age. Everyone has an opinion (including me, it would seem). Reality is a bit different though, from what is being interpreted as reality by these modern thinkers. One day, they will find out. In the meantime, how do we change our dreams? I have some very weird and wonderful dreams, but that is the world of make-believe. I feel for these very intense people today who have to be outraged over everything, it isn't fun at all and how many suffer from depression and anxiety? We need a sense of humour. I know God has a huge sense of humour, after all He sits above the circle of the Earth and laughs!
We’re just unwittingly becoming victims of the thought police
We are being forced to change how we think and speak
Put on a dress and say your a woman and use the ladies facilities, no worries at all, then take your dress off wash your lipstick off and go home to your wife and children for dinner
Police covering up the Rotherham rape gangs so as not to appear racists
Acceptance of a new vocabulary of meaningless words
We’re are being conned big time and just walking into a giant abyss from which there will be very little chance of escape within a generation

Sadly though the ABC thinks it's OK to broadcast the so called skit relating to Gina. It has no place in any civilized society.
So what was wrong with that Margaret ???

I am so proud to be naive.... at least within the confines of this commentary 🤓

Have to say I have never watched an episode of either.
Nor I Lois the trailers were enough to put me off .

Too true James. Thank you.

Tru yet Lois six months in Bangladesh in the early seventies cured me . I thoroughly recomend it for a reality check .

The truth is in the eye of the beholder -- ( ... and in the type of brain wash he has received).
Or is willing to have their brain moulded
Reality is for people who can't cope with drugs.

We're all travelling on the raging River of no Return.
We’re becoming victims of the LACK OF thought police
