Last week we saw the old religions - that have ruled us for the past decade thanks to paranoia, pomposity and personal vanity - fall in a single day.

Here are four changes that occurred on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration - changes that conservatives in the rest of the West, not least our own Peter Dutton, need to get up to speed with before events overtake them …

1. Identity politics is now a thing of ridicule.

   Diversity, equity and inclusion are divisive and oppressive.
