The Much Anticipated Zombie Apocalypse Has Already Begun

Our minds and souls have been captured and monetized, and are now being farmed for profit in the attention economy

The movie, starring Julia Roberts and now streaming on Netflix, imagines America is thrown into chaos.

A family on vacation suddenly find that phones, television, radio and the internet are all down.

Nothing works, not even Teslas.

Then planes start crashing, and bombs start exploding. But with all communication systems disabled, the family has no way of knowing what is going on.

Is it an invasion by the Chinese?

Or is it an attack by Islamists?

Maybe civil war has broken out.

The idea behind the movie is that the easiest way to destroy America would be for comms to be cut and confusion to be sown. In such an environment, Americans would turn on each other and do the work of their enemies for them.

But having watched the movie, on which President Obama was executive producer by the way, the real warning comes in the form of the film’s minor character, a young girl named Rose.
