Imagine you’re trapped in a burning building … would you rather burn to death than be saved by someone who looked different to you?
The reason I ask is because Kristine Larson of the LA Fire Department seems to think so.
The Deputy Chief in the Equity and Human Resources Bureau of the Los Angeles Fire Department - which is the technical term for ‘Someone Who is More Highly Paid and Less Useful than Most’ - told a recent documentary …
“You want to see somebody that responds to your house, your emergency whether it’s an emergency call or a fire call, that looks like you.
“It gives that person a little bit more ease knowing that somebody might understand their situation better”
Ah, yes. The FIRST thing you do - when trapped in a house fire - is to look the firefighter up and down so as to assess whether or not you can relate to him and "his truths".
But wait. It’s a man?
Do you really want to be rescued by a member of the patriarchy? Better to burn.
At least the pale, stale, male could go back to the truck to find another firefighter who better fits your ideal - in terms of sexuality and skin colour.
And pronouns.
And if they/them wore a rainbow lanyard while performing your rescue, all the better.
The only thing worse than the searing heat and acrid smoke of a house fire is the stench of toxic masculinity.
Of course, I’m not serious. But Kristin Larson is. Apparently her sexuality has rendered her retarded.
Trust me. If I’m stuck under rubble, with fire reigning down on me, I’m not terribly bothered by who the firefighter likes to have sex with after work. I just want out of there.
As for melanin, well we’ll all be black we’re not saved from the flames.
But no, Larson insists …
"You want to see somebody... that looks like you.”
Why?
I thought that prejudging someone's abilities based on their looks was so yesterday. Didn’t we all agree about a thousand years ago that was a bad thing?
Why do progressives always want to take us backwards?
And by the way, if you’re in your 60s, do you really want to see someone who looks like you when you call the fire brigade?
Or do you just want to be carried out of a fire and not left to burn to death?
Like the military, members of the Los Angeles Fire Brigade are not meant to be a collection of people that look like you. No! They are meant to be a collection of people ready and able to perform certain tasks to a very high standard.
That Larson doesn’t understand this makes her an incredibly dangerous person to be in leadership of a fire department.
But it gets worse.
Larson was asked about people’s reaction when they realise she is a fire fighter.
She said that some people ask: “Is she strong enough to do this?”
She said other people say: “You couldn’t carry my husband out of a fire”
And then she produced this zinger …
“Which my response is, ‘he got himself into the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire’.”
Feel the burn!
Bragging about how you are physically incapable of doing your job is an interesting position to take, that’s for sure.
But what kind of fire fighter shrugs at the prospect of someone dying because, after all, he got himself into the wrong place”.
Larson is in the wrong job.
The majority of emergency callouts would be to rescue people from their own stupidity, surely.
If you can't do that without hesitation, you need to find another line of work because emergency services simply ain't for you.
Wow just wow!
I’m really starting to wonder if there is any intelligent life left on earth and if it’s worth continuing to live on earth at all.
Come Lord Jesus Quickly!!!
Surely you're joking James. Not??? How has it come to this.
Call to 000:
How can we help?
My house is engulfed in flames.
Okay, we're on our way.
Please make sure they're all white females as I'd feel more comfortable if I need to be carried out!!!
I should not jest...but really???
