The bigots were right after all - sex is a fixed biological reality.
Five UK Supreme Court judges yesterday sided unanimously with the haters by declaring that “woman” is not an identity any old man can wear.
The government’s Gender Recognition Certificate meaningless now that the land’s highest court has ruled trans women are not in fact women.
A man is still free to identify as a woman, but he is not free to use women’s spaces, participate in women’s sports, be admitted to a women’s hospital ward or to argue that he should be imprisoned in the the women’s cells.
Oh, and he’s not free to purchase tickets to lesbian only events.
If you’re born a man, you’re a man. Like I said, the bigots and haters turn out to have been right all along.
Mind you, no-one seriously thought the bigots were bigots or that the haters were haters or that the transphobes were anything of the kind.
The whole thing has been a silly charade played out by the elite who were prepared to trash women’s safety in order to prove how open minded and enlightened they were.
And they were more than happy to trample over the rights of women if it meant being able to paint their political enemies as narrow minded.
The Scottish government has said it will not oppose the ruling in the European Court. In other words, they accept that the jig is up.
Women are women. Men are men. Sex is binary. The charade is over.
The idea that men could transform themselves into women was always going to collapse since it was a house of cards built on sand that he been thrown about into thin air.
The nonsense idea only survived as long as it did due to threats and intimidation.
How many people’s reputations and livelihoods were ruined because they dared to say women don’t have a penis.
Gutless politicians first pandered to trans lobby because they saw it as a way to win over a very small but noisy constituency.
I don’t think they ever imagined agreeing a few blokes could run around pretending they were gals would end up affecting almost every area of public policy.
But by the time they realised what a monster they had created, it was too late to turn back.
How do you go from insisting that trans women are women to admitting they are not in fact women and that you were in fact a complete moron for ever saying so?
The evolution of UK Prime Minster Keir Starmer is fascinating in this regard.
Back in 2019 Sir Keir’s Labor Party was absolutely playing to the LGBTQ crowd, promising that if elected they would allow gender self-identification.
In 2021 Sir Keir slapped down one of his own MPs for daring to say that only women have a cervix.
He told the BBC …
“That shouldn’t be said. It’s not right.”
In March 2022, Sir Keir was repeatedly pressed on the issue, saying the "vast majority" of women "of course don't have a penis".
Which of course left open the possibility that some women do have a penis.
A year later he told the Sunday Times …
"For 99.9% of women, it is completely biological... and, of course, they haven't got a penis."
The position was, obviously, ridiculous and completely unsustainable.
In 2023 the Labor Party was promising to introduce a self-ID system to allow people to change their legal sex without a medical diagnosis.
But at the exact same time, Sir Keir was telling BBC Radio 5 Live:
"Firstly, a woman is an adult female, so let's clear that one up."
So a woman is an adult female AND an adult male is a woman if he says that he is do seem rather at odds.
But Sir Keir was trapped.
On the one hand, he could not withdraw his self ID laws without being charged with the very thing he charged others with - hatred and bigotry.
But on the other hand, he could not sustain the lie that women can have a penis or that men can be pregnant or that pigs can fly.
One can only imagine how much Sir Keir loves the judges on the UK Supreme Court right now.
The court have enabled political idiots like Sir Keir to be able to return the country to normality by quoting a court decision and thereby absolving themselves of any need for explaining their own contradictory positions.
Politicians like Sir Keir will not apologise for having trampled women’s rights or for having vilified those who dared to speak truth.
They will simply direct everyone to the five Supreme Court judges while breathing a huge sigh of relief.
“The court has ruled …” will be the line.
Having created an almighty mess and all sorts of confusion, many politicians will be greatly relived that someone else has cleaned it up for them.
The BBC dared to opine that the Supreme Court ruling had ended “Westminster’s torturous battle with the gender question”.
Someone must now tell the BBC there's nothing tortuous at all if you stick to the correct definition of words.
It was not “tortuous” at all for the general public. That the BBC thinks it was is a pointer to the disconnect between the political class and normal people. I would hazard a guess that it’s the same on issues like immigration. But I digress.
Tortuous was taxpayer money spent on court cases trying to work out what the dangly bit between someone’s legs actually meant.
Anyway, the women who took this issue to the Supreme Court did what politicians were too cowardly to do.
It’s a win for common sense, and a reminder that most of our political class are self-serving cowards who care more about setting themselves up for a pension than about the people they claim to represent.
Only a complete moron would have said otherwise.
And as the last few years have proved, it turns out there are more of those than you'd have thought.
The UK isn’t getting much right at the moment, but they got this right, surprisingly, I might add.
