It must be killing Democrat lawmakers to pretend they don’t approve of the assassination attempt.

President Joe Biden called the shooting of his political opponent “inappropriate”.

To be fair, he also called it “sick”, but that wasn’t his first instinct.

It’s inappropriate to talk with your mouth full; or to leave the toilet seat up.

And listening to Biden today call for America to come together bordered on comical. This is a man who - whether by race, or sexuality or politics - has used every opportunity to divide the nation and demonise his opponents.

But every now and then the veil slips to show the darkness lurking beneath.
