Teal politician Dr Monique Ryan wants parliament to let 16-year-olds vote.
As the parent of twin teenagers, I can attest that this is a terrible idea. I wouldn’t trust 16-year-olds to get the ingredients for a chicken sandwich right.
And Ryan wants us to let people who don’t know their ass from their elbow decide fiscal, energy and defence policy?
It’s a scientific fact that - for boys at least - the brain is not fully developed until age 25.
In Teals, it takes even longer.
The member for Kooyong tweeted this week:
“I’ve been meeting with colleagues across the parliament to discuss allowing 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote, to have their say in the decisions made about their future. What do you think about lowering the voting age?”

Why don’t we let our kids finish school where they learn about drag queens and gender fluidity and structural racism and global warming and gay rights and the benefits of socialism before bombarding them with political propaganda?
I suspect that if the left succeeds in its campaign to give kids the vote, they will next campaign to extend the voting day to voting weeks, allowing them to keep counting votes until they win.
Far from lowering the voting age, I think they should raise it.
Most 18-year-olds still live with mummy and daddy and haven't earned a cent in their lives.
Most 19-year-olds are still trying to work out whether they’re a man or a woman.
Teenagers are impulsive, emotional and not many of them are fully independent - like Teals.
Me: “So who will you vote for?”
16-year-old: “The Greens”
Me: “Why?”
16-year-old: “I like trees”
If the voting age is lowered, expect lefties to be handing out lollies outside polling booths at the next election.
Western civilisation is all a bit of a joke to the Teals.
Teals Want to Lower the Voting Age
Maybe they should increase the voting age, along with anything else that requires some level of intelligence and responsibility to 21. As the next generation’s ability to think for themselves decreases, so a corresponding increase in voting age should be sought.
“I’ve been meeting with colleagues across the parliament to discuss allowing 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote, to have their say in the decisions made about their future."
So this is how this Teal spends her time at the expense of hard working tax-payers???! What an absolute waste of space these bureaucrats are!
They say, 'Let's brainwash the children with radical leftist ideologies at the tax-payer's expense, under the guise of 'education', then, while they are still at that vulnerable, impressionable age, before they have properly learnt how to use their brain, let's strike while the iron is hot, by getting them to vote!!'
These Teals are fools who have not yet grown up themselves, because, like 16 year olds, they have spent their entire lives living at the expense of others!! They should be ashamed of themselves.
