Few things summarise the state of the Western world right now better than Tory MP Mike Freer’s resignation from the British Parliament.
Freer, who has spent 30 years in public office, resigned after receiving numerous death threats for speaking out against anti-Semitism.
Police had advised Freer to wear a stab vest a few years ago after an Islamic jihadist was caught scoping out his office.
The last straw came for Freer when his electorate office was set on fire last month.
He said he loved serving his constituency but that the toll of constant threats was too great for his family to bare.
The response of British MPs has been to urge people to be nicer to each other.
That’s it.
Just sound the adhan and have everybody bow toward Mecca already.

Turns out school principal Marc Balanda has his period.
He sent out an email describing the event as “the most egregious instance of vandalism” and promised “consequences” for the “list of suspects.”

Almost 100 churches in Canada have been vandalized, burned down or desecrated following a hoax about mass graves containing Native American children.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has said the attacks on Christian churches were “understandable”.
Even after the mass grave rumour was revealed to have been a lie, and with attacks on churches continuing, Trudeau failed to apologise for his remark, or even to condemn the ongoing attacks.
So it was welcome news when the he finally spoke out this week in defence of places of worship.
He tweeted:
“Places of worship should be safe spaces for community members to gather.
“The attack against a Mississauga mosque earlier this week – on the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia – is cowardly, disturbing, and unacceptable.
“I condemn it in the strongest terms possible. Islamophobia has no place in any of our communities.”
Oh, hang on.
Trudeau condemns one attack on a mosque but is silent about 96 Christian churches that have been burned down.
Trudeau is a hateful, deceitful and evil man.
Call me old fashioned, but I kind of think rape, torture and beheadings disqualify you from receiving a Noble Peace Prize.
And yet the UN agency responsible for Palestinian refugees has been nominated for the prize.
This despite evidence that some of its members participated in - and many more celebrated - the October 7 attacks on Israel.
Then again, Yasser Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize. So crazier things have happened!
Norway MP Asmund Aukrus has nominated the UNRWA “for its long-term work in providing vital support to Palestine and the region as a whole”.
It would be tempting to dismiss Aukrus as just one of those crazy idiots who, inexplicably, gets voted into Parliament from time to time - like Albanese, or Wong, or Ally, or Bowen, or Burke …
But Aukrus is deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Norwegian Parliament.
In the upside down world we now inhabit, nothing makes more sense than a UN agency that acts as a front for terrorists receiving a Noble Peace Prize nomination.

I am so depressed after reading the Saturday Sanity check. Especially about the churches in Canada.
But I am very happy to hear boys will be boys! Well done kids!
