A DUTCH city’s plan to ban advertising meat because of its impact on the climate is a huge mis steak.
Haarlem will become the first city in the world to ban meat ads when the law comes into force from 2024.
GroenLinks - a green political party - sponsored the law, warning that methane from livestock is responsible for 14% of all emissions.
"Meat is very harmful to the environment. We cannot tell people that there is a climate crisis and encourage them to buy products that are part of it," Ziggy Klazes, a councillor from GroenLinks told reporters.
The government of the city of 160,000 says it has not yet been decided whether sustainably produced meat will be included in the ad ban.
World Economic Forum boss Klauss Schwab praised the move, saying:
“They will eat zee bugs.”
Okay, he didn’t really say that. But the WEF have been publishing articles like this one headlined “Five Reasons Why Eating Insects Could Reduce Climate Change”.

IN more climate catastrophist craziness, Switzerland is threatening to jail people who heat their homes too much during winter.
The Swiss are proposing to ration gas and, as part of that proposal, they are threatening jail for up to three years for anyone who heats their home to more than 19 degrees Celsius.
Imagine police going door-to-door with thermometers, checking the temp in your living room.
Imagine neighbours ratting on each other.
“Triple 0, what’s your emergency?”
“Well sir, I went next door to borrow some sugar and my neighbour’s house felt unusually cozy.”

I’m not even joking. Didn’t police go door-to-door during Covid checking how many people were in houses and responding to reports from neighbours that children were playing in backyards?

CALIFORNIANS have been urged to conserve energy by not using appliances after 4pm.
The State, you see, is experiencing an unprecedented heatwave. It’s also known as summer.
Anyway, governor Gavin Newsome is worried the energy grid will not be able to cope with demand and so, to avoid black outs, is appealing to the state’s 39 million residents to avoid using power after 4pm.
What’s so special about 4pm? Well a fifth of California’s power is supplied by solar. You’re smart enough to figure it out.
You can be sure the air con will be cranked up at the governor’s house. How do we know? Well, it’s just a guess really. But I mean, he was partying during Covid lockdowns.
If can’t see where this is going, you haven’t been paying attention.
California is the state where the energy grid can’t keep homes cool in summer AND where the Democrats have just legislated to mandate people drive electric vehicles from 2035.
THE longer we go the more I am convinced that the holy trinity of Woke ideology - Diversity, Inclusion and Equity - are nothing but fig leaves used to disguise racists.
Consider this news article in The Times.
Can you imagine if The Times celebrated the fact that “Great offices of state are set to contain no blacks”?
Maybe you’re allowed to be racist if you’re sexist about it.
Engineered diversity is a recipe for mediocrity.
The Western world is facing the most challenging set of circumstances since the 1940s. We need the best leaders, not the most popular pigmentation or genitals.

On the topic of beef. I can say as a producer of grass fed beef, we are an environmentally sustainable business. Our cattle are freely grazing on carbon sequestering grass. We have blocks of bushland and creeks fenced and planted out to regenerate natural ecological communities. With the conservation works we have completed on our property we are more than carbon neutral. The people peddling the anti beef propaganda have truly sinister intentions.
The Greens and their like have no respect, no compassion, no empathy. Divisive imbeciles. How any sane person could tick the box next to their names on election day is beyond my understanding. We need to fight back by throwing our support behind conservative organisations. Happy to say in the past 12 months I have joined IPA, Menzies Institute, CPAC and subscribed to the Spectator. Returning to the centre isn't going to happen by itself.
