At least one of Labor’s Queensland MPs will need to resign before the next election so that the party can meet its female quota.
Party rules require at least half of all MPs to be women and, at present, only one of Labor’s five Queensland representatives has a vagina.
“Sorry buddy, but we need you to stand down before the next election.”
“What? You’re not happy with my performance?”
“Oh no. Your performance has been great.”
“So what’s the problem?”
“Honestly, it’s your penis.”
Seriously. And we voted for these people to run our country?
But wait. Before we go jettisoning people for having the wrong dangly bits between their legs, doesn’t Queensland allow a man to legally change his gender without even undergoing surgery?
And hasn't the Health Minister, Shannon Fentiman, said that a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman?
Wouldn’t all of that make a nonsense of female quotas?
If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry!
Queensland Senator Murray Watt, better known for his “Hands off our ham” campaign than anything he has actually done in parliament, continues to make a goose of himself.
Labor Senator Murray Watt has slammed Peter Dutton’s call for a boycott of Woolies over their refusal to sell Aussie-themed merchandise for Australia Day.
Murray Watt accused the Opposition leader of playing silly culture war games.
He has also warned that Dutton’s stance endangered the jobs of 200,000 Woolies employees.
Well you can’t have it both ways.
You can’t say Dutton’s stance is petty AND say that his stance has so much popular support that it puts 200,000 supermarket jobs at risk.
Surely the claim so many jobs could be affected suggests there is strong popular support for Dutton’s position and it is therefore not silly at all.
And one more thing, if Woolies have 200,000 staff, how come I can never find one when go to pay for my groceries?
Anthony Albanese’s much heralded, history making trip to China last year was supposed to reset our relationship with the red dragon.
Beta hung out with Xi, talking about pandas and getting photographs. Xi even described Beta as a “handsome boy”.
And when the handsome one returned home he proudly announced that our relationship with the Chinese Communist Party was back on track.
The damage Scott Morrison had done to the relationship - when he dared to suggest that, just maybe, there should be questions asked about what the hell happened in Wuhan - was all in the past.
Beta and Xi were tight.
So, how’s handsome boy doing with his Chinese besties?
Well, on the eve of this weekend’s Taiwanese election, Albo made a rather benign point …
“It is important that everyone respects the outcome of democratic elections.”
To which China’s ambassador to Australia, Xiao Qian, replied …
“If Australia is tied to the chariot of Taiwan separatist forces, the Australian people would be pushed over the edge of an abyss.”
I think it’s fair to say that escalated quickly!
Nothing to worry about. Just a lover’s tiff. Our Appeaser-in-Chief will bend over a little further, and everything will be fine.
Yet another ABC journalist has quit the broadcaster, complaining about racism.
The network’s Parliament House reporter Nour Haydar quit this week over the ABC’s coverage of the war in Gaza.
And guess what, she didn’t quit because she thought it was too pro-Hamas.
For every member of the public who reckons the ABC is too far left, there’s a member of the ABC collective who insists the ABC is not far left enough!
Haydar, the second Lebanese-Australian staffer to leave the broadcaster in the past week, also complained that diverse staff were not treated well.
Ironically, the departure of Haydar and her colleague Antonette Lautff, might serve to increase diversity at the ABC.
They could fill the spot with a white, heterosexual male who holds conservative views.
Stop laughing. Let a man dream.
The problem at the ABC is not difficult to diagnose. The national broadcaster has become a safe space for a collective of social justice warriors who all sit at or near the top of the social justice pyramid.
As “diverse” people they see all of life through the prism of victimhood and entitlement.
God help the ABC executive who attempts to discipline or correct such people.
The problem with cuddling people because of their gender, or sexuality, or ethnicity is that they get used to the luxuries of special treatment.
When they get treated like the rest of us ( ie expected to do work properly) they crack it.
South Africa have sacked the Jewish captain of their Under 19s cricket team - for his own safety, of course.
You can read the Cricket South Africa press release here …
I love South Africa. I have been there many times. But under the ANC it has become as racist as anything that went before it.
Australia should offer David Teeger asylum. Come play for a team where ability rather than ethnicity is recognised.
Just on that, check out this South African Cricket U19s team sheet …
Yes, you read that correctly. They mark off the players “race”.
And South Africa has the gall to drag Israel before the UN’s International Court of Justice on charges of genocide?
The ANC government supports Hamas, and the South African cricket board are a bunch of captured cowards.
The South African Cricket Board, now exposed as racist anti-Semities, mandated that all players “take a knee” before games at the 2021 T20 World Cup.
When star player Quinton de Kock refused - he didn’t see why he should be forced to perform a gesture in order to prove that he wasn’t a racist - he was left out of the team.
He later apologised and promised to take part in the race theatre in order to preserve his career.
Let South African cricketers take a knee. David Teeger should stand his ground, and instead give them the bird.
That is a serious situation in South Africa. It seems not to have improved from when Lauren Southern made her documentary.
I am reading about the travesty being visited upon Israel in the ICJ by South Africa. They are using 'human rights" to take Israel to a UN court that has no real jurisdiction or credibility. South Africa is just using the jew hating UN for what ever ends they hope hope to achieve.
Thanks James. Whose sanity are you checking? If all this rubbish goes on for much longer we won’t be able to tell the nuts from the trees.
South Africa has enough problems of its own. Why would they be commenting on Israel anyway??
