Thunberg receives a doctorate in theology

Climate catastrophist Greta Thunberg will receive an honorary doctorate in theology from Helsinki University.

It’s hard to know whether climate scientists or theologians should be more embarrassed.

On the one hand, it confirms what many of us have long suspected - climate science is a cult.

On the other hand, it confirms what many church goers have long feared - theology departments are the early adopters of Wokeness.

A kid in Sunday school, let alone a doctor of theology, should know God’s promise to Noah in Genesis 8v22:

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

And yet here we are.

Saint Greta, peace be upon her, will be honoured alongside a Professor of Church History and a Professor of the New Testament.

When your local church is looking for a new minister, beware of applicants with a theology degree from a university.

They’re more likely to pray to Gaia than to Jesus, and almost certain to believe that the rainbow is a sign of Daniel Andrews’ promise never to flood the world with cis gendered heterosexuals ever again.

To be fair, the pig tailed high priestess of emissions reduction has done more to make people believe in apocalyptic death cults than most.

But there’s another group that should be embarrassed by this, and that is the schooling system.

Greta started her ‘career’ by skipping school. She achieved worldwide acclaim by organising school strikes. And now, as a reward, she is being made an honorary doctor. Where did she get her honorary high school diploma?

I wonder if she will get honorary student debt to complete the experience?
