Reaction to Christian Footballer's Post is 'Embarrassing'
Australian rugby league player Adam Doueihi has been asked to explain why he wrote the word “embarrassing” on a social media post promoting LGBTQI in sport - which is itself embarrassing!
The West Tigers player, a devout Christian, left the comment under a post on the English Premier League’s Instagram account.
The post listed ways people could show their support for “LGBTQ+ inclusion”.
These included saying things like …
“It’s so great to see how many athletes are able to be themselves.”
“Representation on the pitch is so important.”
“How can we make sure everyone is included?”
“We’ve come so far! How can we make sure we keep it up?”
As Doueihi said, “embarrassing”!
His comment received 9000 likes. So there were clearly a lot of other red faced English Premier League fans.
